The first-ever dedicated album release by pioneering female Italian film music composer/arranger/multi-instrumentalist Giulia De Muittis (aka Mrs. Alessandro Alessandroni). Rare undercover pseudo-ethnological studio sessions made under her experimental alter ego Kema (The Pawnshop/Abnormal Sensations) combining the ethos of Can’s Ethnological Forgery Series (EFS) with the studio trickery of Delia Derbyshire and unshakable credentials as one of the founding figures of Giallo film music and Italian psych soundtracks.

Perhaps best known amongst fans of Italian production music and Giallo movie soundtracks as the wife of the legendary Alessandro Alessandroni, composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Giulia De Muittis was an equally formidable force who emerged from the formative years of the aforementioned anti-genres and rose to a monarchic status within the country’s vibrant, and seldom rivalled musical secret society. The cliché “behind every successful man, there is a strong woman” might not do Alessandro and Giulia’s long-running creative unison justice but one thing that rings true that in the shadows of Senor Alessandroni’s limelight (illuminated by his work with Ennio Morricone for the films of Sergio Leone and Dario Argento) remained a darker musical feminine force which in time has come to represent the duo’s finest and most sought after sonic artifacts. In a career that spanned four decades until her untimely death in 1984 Giulia’s collaborative work as a reliable creative all-rounder and pop polymath has stood the unshakable test of time like few other musicians resulting in projects like The Pawnshop, Femina Ridens, Revolver, Questo Sporco Mondo Meraviglioso, The Night Evelyn Came Out Of The Tomb, Angoscia, Inchiesta Giudiziaria and Witchcraft ‘70 (Angeli bianchi Angeli neri) earning increasing “Most Wanted” status on the collectors’ market. It is of no coincidence that Giulia’s nom de plumes, Kema and De Muittis, have in recent, more educated years, become trusted seals of approval which connect top choice composers such as Raskovich (aka Sorgini), Stelvio Cipriani, Morricone, Braen (aka Alessandroni) Amedeo Tomassi, Piero Umiliani and Bruno Nicolai amongst select others. It is, however, De Muittis’ seldom heard self-initiated solo work for small independent Italian library music imprints that reveal a unique multi-instrumentalist female composer working at her most intimate and uncompromised best.

"For their first album in 5 years, Zelienople turns on the current time with a record of low-key decaying songs wrapped in hypnotic, driving rhythms.

The Chicago based trio is back with a stunner of an underground pop album. Their most reverb heavy bombast is gone in favour of pure earth bound intimate tunes that feel like they summon the spirit of the late Mark Hollis. Shrouded tribal percussion and rippling vocals are at the forefront, while looped atmospheres echo in the distance.

Since the release of their last album, vocalist Matt Christensen has been known for pouring his soul out in countless bandcamp releases of singer/songwriter, experimental and ambient offerings. It's hard to keep up with him, but one can't but to admire the dedication and extremely high quality of it all. Mike Weis on the other hand is less prolific, but has become a focused student of Korean Shaman and Buddhist music, often performing in zen based percussive rituals when he's not involved in side projects of improvisational music. Brian Harding is perhaps the most anonymous of the three, yet he is the steady, grounding element on bass that keeps them as one. Together, they create a beautifully realised own voice that feels especially close on their new album. Hold You Up is like a slow walk through a withering world, though one with a sense of refuge. This is music with heart - navigating darkness through light."

Es ist laut 
Eines schönen Tages begleitete ich den Schlagzeuger Elvin Jones, damit sich der New Yorker vor dem Konzert mit seiner Band Jazz Machine nicht in Germany verlaufen würde. Wir kamen an einer Großbaustelle vorbei, auf der mehrere Arbeiter mit Presslufthämmern einen Höllenlärm produzierten. Elvin Jones blieb stehen und stieg sofort ein, trommelte mit beiden Fäusten auf den Metallzaun und schrie mich an: „What a sound, man!“ Ehe er es dann mit seiner eigenen Höllenmaschine krachen ließ, über der der Geist von John Coltrane schwebte.
	ES IST LAUT ist der dritte Track, den wir veröffentlichen, nachdem wir in einigen Sessions damit improvisiert haben. Text und Sound sind der Meinung, dass Lärm relativ ist. Und dass Action nichts mit Lautstärke zu tun haben muss – das Unheil kann sich anhören wie das Gebrüll eines Nazis oder so schweigsam sein wie die Killer in den Filmen von Jean-Pierre Melville.
	„Lärm ist das, was die Musik träumt“, hat Morton Feldman gesagt. Während wir nicht nur geträumt haben, dass es draußen zur Zeit nicht so laut ist wie sonst. Der Alptraum lautet „silence is death“.

DAS HOBOS & FRANZ DOBLER treffen sich seit 2015, um aus ihren Sounds & Poetry auch mal was Anderes rauszuholen. Was sich u.a. in zwei Hörspielen für den Bayerischen Rundfunk, einem Song auf der Split-7'' Remembering Nico (Gutfeeling Rec. GF068) und dem Krautrockblues „Falsche Hose“ (Bandcamp) niedergeschlagen hat. Sie träumen davon, dass der Beat weitergeht, weil sie noch einige Pfeile im Köcher haben.
 
DAS HOBOS sind seit 2010 zusammen und haben neben einigen Singles die Longplayer Memphis-Buchloe (Camomille Records/Montreal, 2012), This Is The Place (In gute Hände, 2014) und Random Home (Schamoni Musik, 2020) veröffentlicht. Leroy&Simonetti haben unter den Namen Rhytm Police (2008, 2013) und H (Echokammer, 2019) veröffentlicht, Leroy auf Schamoni Musik die Solo-Alben Skläsh und Bambadea und Simonetti aka Mycrotom kommt in Kürze mit seiner Solo-LP Ratoratiyo um die Ecke.

FRANZ DOBLER war 35 Jahre in Musikprojekte verwickelt, von denen die meisten (u.a. mit Nils Koppruch, Hubl Greiner, GUZ, HF Coltello, Steve Binetti) nur einen Abend lang dauerten, ehe er sich mit Das Hobos einließ. Er hat seit 1988 Romane, Musikbücher und Gedichtbände veröffentlicht und für das Trikont-Label Compilations herausgegeben. Zuletzt erschien der Gedichtband „Ich will doch immer nur kriegen was ich haben will“ (Starfruit Publications) mit „Es ist laut“ auf S. 144. (franzdobler.de)

Cormac Dermody (fiddle), Radie Peat (concertina and harmonium) and Brian Flanagan (five-string banjo) play traditional songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic. Murder ballads, barn-dances, whaling songs and old-time tunes are treated with an emphasis on harmony and swelling, droning, chordal arrangements.
