The 30th. May is World MS Day (#MyInvisibleMS) 

My wife Joanne has always told me that I’m her superman – possibly my own fault for wearing my underpants on the outside, but then I’m nothing if not a slave to fashion- so it was a real shock when, a number of years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

At the time, only Jo and myself knew, and I managed to explain away any walking and balance problems as the effects of past football injuries, something which only worked until it became blindingly obvious to everyone that something more serious was amiss. 

Recent years have brought some fairly dramatic physical changes.  Walking requires a walking frame, my arms and hands aren’t as nimble as they once were, but maybe the worst effect is something called Trigeminal Neuralgia (a facial nerve problem), which at it’s worst is, not to put too fine a point on it, bloody agony.

There’s good and bad days though and, on the good ones, I can still play my guitar and write the odd song, so the situation could be appreciably worse.  Having the best wife and the best kids in the world makes all the difference and, even with my glasses on, they still tell me I’m their Superman. Saw Donovan in concert in The Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow not so long ago, It was an anniversary concert, and he said that this was the first big place that he performed in, and it was like coming home. He sat crossed legged on a little rug on the floor, despite his old bones and charmed us with his music and storytelling. It was a very vibrant Glaswegian audience, a lot of them probably personal friends of old and family, so a great deal of heckling and laughter, which he took in his stride, and I'm sure he very much enjoyed the huge love and  warmth that filled the theatre that night!
Love his music, and difficult to choose only one, but this was a favourite of a dear old friend.

All songs created and mastered in the P.M.S. studio with samplitude, Presonus Studio one or cubase in the latest versions and tons of plugins. A 16-channel mixer, Arturia Synth's, master keyboards and machine Studio by NI are available. Likewise, various microphone setups. If required, fee-musicians can be hired.
