Align your chakras for Akas. A new name to many but actually a total legend who's been involved in D&B for years and was responsible for signing early releases from a whole class of modern day headliners with his label Talkin Beatz. Back to the future, he's flexing some serious muscles with this debut on DJ Hybrid's Audio Addict. Two tracks, two reasons to tear-up the dance; 'Mini Roller' is a rasping, wasp-like work-out with a bassline that stings and buzzes in all the right places. 'Eurostar', meanwhile, goes into hyperdrive with a bassline that's so naughty it digs its own tunnel to France. No passports necessary!

The Force returns to Ruffneck Ting for the imprints first release of 2021, once again demonstrating his stunning production and versatile style. 

Hailing from the Midlands, The Force is a producer who has contributed to the evolution of jungle and drum and bass for nearly two decades with heavyweight releases on labels such as Urban Takeover, Lowdown Deep, Calypso and Serial killers (to name but a few) 

Since his first outing on Ruffneck Ting in 2014 he’s helped shape the Birmingham-Bristol roller vibe, alongside label regulars Jinx, K Jah and Vytol, that is now synonymous with the label’s sound. 

His influence on Ruffneck Ting’s journey, continues with “Second Sight Ep” and this time he introduces two new team mates to the label who are making big waves in the scene, Jeopardize and Psych.

The ep kicks off with Psych as co-pilot and the full fat whompy goodness of “Trouble” setting the upbeat flavorsome tone of the ep. The Force then switches it up to classic jungle vibes with “Stop The Show” where a reggae intro filters into big rolling basses and beautifully crafted breaks and percussion.  The title track “Second Sight” rolls out stepper-style with big fat 808s and cheeky amen fills. “Made In England” is up next and has a bitter-sweet tone where wistful pads, lead to a another mighty bassline and reminds us, at least, we have the music. “World Of Dead” rolls out with massive snares and wobbly bass and leads to the grand finale, “Fight Night”. With Jeopardize on the collab this delightfully obnoxious dancefloor smasher drops with a poignant sample that will ring true for so many of us…..” it’s been a hard fight!” …

After the immense success of his 2019 Street Series release “Network,” and his brilliant 2020 “Lion & The Unicorn” EP, Liondub proudly welcomes the return of Jayline to the label a year on. This time, Jay is joined by Smash aka Smash & Grab and Deadlee MC for “Star In The Making” a hard hitting, energetic vocal cut showcasing the Bully Squad’s new sound and aesthetic. On the flip, Jayline & Smash offer up “Vanity”, similar in tone and energy, this cut compliments the title track perfectly and gives us a sneak peak in to what’s on the horizon for Jayline and company.
