La llegada de inmigrantes europeos al Río de La Plata durante el siglo XIX y durante la primera mitad del XX, especialmente españoles e italianos, trajo consigo ideas anarquistas que se arraigaron en el movimiento obrero Uruguayo y Argentino.

En 1931, Miguel Arcángel Roscigna, líder anarquista destacado en la Argentina, junto a los italianos Severino Di Giovanni (periodista,poeta y obrero) y Gino Gatti (el ingeniero) y su gente. Lideran los primeros asaltos anarquistas, era para ellos una forma de atacar al capitalismo en su raíz, además se dedicaron a hacer “justicia por mano propia” contra los jefes policiales identificados como torturadores de anarquistas y obreros sindicalizados.

Mientras Severino era fusilado en Bs As, Roscigna planeaba liberar a compañeros detenidos en la cárcel de Punta Carretas.
Los fondos recogidos de asaltos anteriores, facilitaron las cosas. Permitió que Gino Gatti se instalara en una casa comprada por el grupo frente a la cárcel, instalando la carbonería ¨El Buen Trato¨ desde donde comienza la construcción de uno de los túneles de fuga más perfectos, con ventilación y luz eléctrica a lo largo de su recorrido de 50 metros hacia la cárcel de Punta Carretas.

Poco tiempo del primer mundial de futbol de 1930 y un Uruguay Campeón. La fuga, concretada el 18 de marzo de 1931, permitió que los prisioneros salieran sin problemas y fueran recogidos por vehículos en un garaje cercano.

Sin embargo, la seguridad pronto rastreó a los anarquistas por un error accidental de un agente, resultando en la detención de Roscigna y su grupo por 53 policías. Eventualmente, fueron condenados y encarcelados en Montevideo hasta 1936, desapareciendo posteriormente en circunstancias nebulosas.

Pasados varios meses de la desaparición, un oficial se sincera con la Comisión Pro Presos y les dice con tono confidencial: “No se rompan más muchachos: a Roscigna, Vázquez Paredes y Malvicini les aplicaron la ley Bazán, los fondearon en el Río de la Plata”.

4 décadas después este túnel fue reutilizado por los presos Tupamaros haciendo así una de las más grandes fugas de la historia, donde se dieron a la libertad 118 presos, pero eso sera parte de otra historia…

Phillip Lauer seems to be generating a vast amount of music at present. Every couple of weeks an email will drop into our busy inboxes with a new release or remix from the Tuff City Kids member. His album for Permanent Vacation last year caught our attention with it's zealous melodies and excitable percussion. It was a real feel good affair which can often go amiss. His sensibilities remain similar on his latest release for Futureboogie. It seemed an odd choice of release for both the label and artist, however, after a listen it begins to make perfect sense.

Few artists today are more responsible for the recent resurgence of lo-fi house as a genre in dance music than Harrison Webber, better known as Harrison BDP. His instant classics such as “Decompression” and “It’s Foggy Outside,” along with the work of others, have helped lay down the foundation for a sound that’s low on frills but high on emotion through its superb utilization of classic techniques and poignant vocal sampling. It’s a formula that has shown itself to be well-appreciated by house-heads alike, earning his songs millions of plays on youtube channels around the globe in a relatively short amount of time.

In his latest release titled “Confusion Of Sound,” Mr. BDP fully attempts to explore the outer reaches of this genre by constructing an EP that contains two extremes. The A-side of the record lands on the soothing end of the spectrum, designed with the intent of relaxing the listener into a stable trance that’s marked by lush synth melodies and playful percussion. On the other hand, the B-side seems to be more tuned for the dancefloor, taking listeners on a cosmic journey of euphoric acid-house.

His song “The Flow” happens to fall on the A-side, and fans of Harrison BDP will instantly recognize it as the work of the Cardiff producer. From the length of the song (coming in at about 10 minutes) to the expertly selected quotes used to complement the track’s celestial feel, this tune embodies everything we’ve come to know Harrison BDP as at this early point in his young career. “The Flow” will surely fit right in with his already star-studded discography and help the producer win the ears of more music lovers in 2018.

The Italian born, Berlin based Gianfranco Barnaba is the mind behind Ruff Stuff.  He have rocked up on a host on different labels, including !K7, Shall Not Fade, Madhouse Records, Suol, Sloth Boogie and STEP Recordings. 
However, it's the work on his own label, the aptly names Ruff Stuff Music Ltd, for which he’s arguably best renowned.

Grew up during the ‘90’s electronic wave, firstly as clubber and then as DJ and vinyl enthusiast, in the mid-2000s he decided to start produce electronic music. The first steps were moved on the Idm and Ambient territories, driven by his love for ethereal melodies and intricate broken beats.

The shift to House happened after re-discovering different classic records hidden in his collection. 
From here the idea to create a music project focused on representing the vibes of the old-school House, Techno and Garage with a propensity to find the newest, freshest sounds. 

Rough samples, hypnotic melodies, groovy beats and vocals are the main ingredients that marks the Ruff Stuff’s sound.
