On average, the total ingredients bought over the festive period could rack up an astonishing 15,890 food miles per person, the equivalent of travelling to the North Pole there and back three times, according to the UK and Ireland Mushroom Producers.

 

A few festive favourites such as nut roasts, chestnut stuffing, avocado salads and prawn cocktails come with air miles that would put us all on the naughty list!
