Derrick Joseph Chievous (born July 3, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player. During his pro club career, he played at the small forward position. Chievous played three seasons in the National Basketball Association, after being selected by the Houston Rockets, in the first round, with the 16th overall pick of the 1988 NBA draft.

College career
Chievous played college basketball at University of Missouri, with the Missouri Tigers, from 1984 to 1988. He led the Tigers to three NCAA Tournament appearances. He also led them to Big Eight regular-season and tournament titles.

Chievous became the school's all-time scoring leader with 2,580 points over his collegiate career.[1] Chievous was inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 1996.[2] On November 1, 2012, it was announced that Chievous would be part of the "Class of 2012" inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on November 15.[3] On February 19, 2019, during a ceremony at halftime of a game between Missouri and Kentucky, the university retired Chievous' number 3 jersey.[4]

Professional career
Chievous was selected by the Houston Rockets, in the first round, with the 16th overall pick of the 1988 NBA draft. Chievous played in the NBA from 1988 to 1991, with the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers. His best NBA season came in his rookie year, when he appeared in 81 games and averaged 9.3 points per game.

Chievous' son Quinton Chievous (b. 1992), played college basketball at the University of Tennessee and Hampton University.[5]

Kashyap Pramod Patel (born February 25, 1980) is an American lawyer serving since 2025 as the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Patel also served as acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from February to April 2025.

Patel studied criminal justice and history at the University of Richmond and graduated from the Pace University School of Law. In 2005, he began working as a public defender in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and later as a federal public defender for the Southern District of Florida. Patel worked as a staff member at the Department of Justice from 2012 to 2017; he then left the department and became a senior aide to Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Patel was the primary author of the Nunes memo, alleging that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials abused their authority in the FBI investigation into links between associates of Donald Trump and Russian officials.

In February 2019, Patel joined the National Security Council's International Organizations and Alliances directorate. In 2020, he became the principal deputy director of national intelligence until May, when he returned to the National Security Council. In November, after President Donald Trump dismissed Mark Esper as secretary of defense, Patel was named as the chief of staff to acting secretary of defense Christopher C. Miller.

After Trump left office in January 2021, Patel leveraged his association with Trump to promote several business ventures and made recurring appearances on several podcasts. In April 2022, he was named to the board of Trump Media & Technology Group. Also that year, he published a children's book about the Steele dossier and, with John Solomon, was appointed to represent Trump before the National Archives and Records Administration; the FBI questioned Patel about his involvement in Trump's records. He founded The Kash Foundation, a charity to help participants in the January 6 United States Capitol attack pay legal costs. Patel has promoted several conspiracy theories about the deep state; false claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election; QAnon; and the January 6 Capitol attack.

On December 11, 2024, Christopher Wray announced that he would resign at the conclusion of the Biden presidency, January 20, 2025. Patel appeared before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary in January 2025. He was confirmed by the Senate in February. Shortly thereafter, he was named as the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, but by April he was replaced. Patel is the first person of South Asian descent to serve as FBI director.

Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body.[2][7] These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread.[7] Possible signs and symptoms of cancer include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss, and a change in bowel movements.[1] While these symptoms may indicate cancer, they can also have other causes.[1] Over 100 types of cancers affect humans.[7][8]

About 33% of deaths from cancer are caused by tobacco and alcohol consumption, obesity, lack of fruit and vegetables in diet and lack of exercise.[2][9][10] Other factors include certain infections, exposure to ionizing radiation, and environmental pollutants.[3] Infection with specific viruses, bacteria, and parasites causes approximately 16–18% of cancers worldwide.[11] These infectious agents include Helicobacter pylori, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HPV, Epstein–Barr virus, Human T-lymphotropic virus 1, Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus and Merkel cell polyomavirus. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) does not directly cause cancer, but it causes immune deficiency that can increase the risk of cancer from other infections, sometimes up to several thousandfold (in the case of Kaposi's sarcoma). Importantly, vaccination against the hepatitis B virus and the human papillomavirus have been shown to nearly eliminate the risk of cancers caused by these viruses in persons successfully vaccinated prior to infection.

These environmental factors act, at least partly, by changing the genes of a cell.[12] Typically, many genetic changes are required before cancer develops.[12] Approximately 5–10% of cancers are due to inherited genetic defects.[13] Cancer can be detected by certain signs and symptoms or screening tests.[2] It is then typically further investigated by medical imaging and confirmed by biopsy.[14]

The risk of developing certain cancers can be reduced by not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol intake, eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, vaccination against certain infectious diseases, limiting consumption of processed meat and red meat, and limiting exposure to direct sunlight.[15][16] Early detection through screening is useful for cervical and colorectal cancer.[12] The benefits of screening for breast cancer are controversial.[12][17] Cancer is often treated with some combination of radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy and targeted therapy.[2][4] More personalized therapies that harness a patient's immune system are emerging in the field of cancer immunotherapy.[18] Palliative care is a medical specialty that delivers advanced pain and symptom management, which may be particularly important in those with advanced disease..[2] The chance of survival depends on the type of cancer and extent of disease at the start of treatment.[12] In children under 15 at diagnosis, the five-year survival rate in the developed world is on average 80%.[19] For cancer in the United States, the average five-year survival rate is 66% for all ages.[5]

In 2015, about 90.5 million people worldwide had cancer.[20] In 2019, annual cancer cases grew by 23.6 million people, and there were 10 million deaths worldwide, representing over the previous decade increases of 26% and 21%, respectively.[6][21]

Terrace Marshall Jr. (born June 9, 2000) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the LSU Tigers, and was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft.

Early life
Marshall attended Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. As a junior he had 55 receptions for 1,250 yards with 15 touchdowns and was named the Shreveport Times Male Athlete of the Year.[1] He missed most of his senior season due to an ankle injury.[2] Despite the injury he was still named a 2018 Under Armour All-American.[3] A five star recruit, he committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play college football.[4][5]

College career
As a true freshman at LSU in 2018, Marshall played in 13 games with one start and had 12 receptions for 192 yards.[6] He returned to LSU in 2019 as one of LSU's top three receivers along with Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase. Although he missed 3 games due to injury, he still managed to score 13 touchdowns, including 2 vs Georgia in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championship, 2 vs Oklahoma in the Peach bowl, and 1 vs Clemson in the College Football Championship game win.[7] Against the Texas Longhorns, Marshall, Jefferson and Chase each had 100 receiving yards, the first time in school history three players had over 100 yards receiving.[8]

On November 29, 2020, Marshall declared for the 2021 NFL draft and opted out of the remainder of the 2020 college football season. Up until that point, Marshall recorded 731 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns (both third in the SEC) in seven games played.[9]

Carolina Panthers
Marshall was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round (59th overall) of the 2021 NFL draft.[12] On June 17, 2021, he signed his four-year rookie contract with Carolina, worth $5.7 million.[13] As a rookie, he appeared in 13 games and recorded 17 receptions for 138 receiving yards.[14]

In Week 9 of the 2022 season, Marshall recorded his first professional touchdown on a 21-yard reception in the 42–21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.[15] He finished the 2022 season with 28 receptions for 490 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown in 14 games.[16]

On August 27, 2024, Marshall was waived by the Panthers as part of final roster cuts.[17]

San Francisco 49ers
On August 29, 2024, Marshall was signed to the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad.[18] On October 15, Marshall was released by the 49ers.[19]

Las Vegas Raiders
On October 22, 2024, Marshall was signed to the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad.[20] He was promoted to the active roster on November 28.[21] In the 2024 season, he had three receptions for 41 yards.[22]

Philadelphia Eagles
On April 11, 2025, Marshall signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.[23] On August 26, he was released by the Eagles as part of final roster cuts and re-signed to the practice squad five days later.[24][25] Marshall was released again on November 4.[26] He was re-signed to the practice squad on December 1.[27]

His uncle, Joe Delaney, played in the NFL and died in 1983 attempting to rescue three children from drowning in a pond, before Marshall was born.[28]

Ghislaine Noelle Marion Maxwell[a] (born 25 December 1961[5]: 436 [6]) is a British former socialite and convicted child sex offender.[7] In 2021, she was found guilty of child sex trafficking and other offences in connection with the deceased financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.[8] The following year, she was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment in the United States.[9]

Born in France and raised in Oxford, England, she attended Balliol College, Oxford, in the 1980s and became a prominent member of London's social scene. She is a naturalised American citizen and retains both French and British citizenship.[4] Maxwell worked for her father, Robert Maxwell, until his death in 1991; she then moved to New York City, where she continued living as a socialite and had developed a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.[10] Alongside Epstein, Maxwell built up a vast social network consisting of various prominent elites.[11] Documents released by the United States Department of Justice reveal that she had maintained friendships with Naomi Campbell, Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton and Kerry Kennedy.[12][13]
