They say that every stalker anthem story needs a good sequel, and when envisaging a second Scream album chapter, this thought lay at the forefront of Markus Schulz's mindset.

Acting as a followup to Ana Diaz's deeply resonated Nothing Without Me, the connection towards Lady V's angelic efforts on Erase You became paramount at an early stage; as multiple video recordings of Markus' gig performances spread throughout YouTube, in similar vein to its predecessor 18 months earlier.

Beautiful yet haunting, Lady V's performance shines throughout, with the key sentence of "I Can't Erase You" provoking multiple thoughts and emotions. The original quickly became a standout fan favorite amongst club attendees and Global DJ Broadcast listeners, and has remained one of the most requested tracks for both mediums all year long.

To compliment the original, Markus recruits several personal favorites, with each providing their unique interpretation on this anthem.

The personnel includes the new newest signings to Markus' Schulz Music Group booking empire - Slovakian Nifra, one of the shining lights for females in the DJ industry, stars with her famed swaggering bassline and booming melodic nature. The remix has already starred at Markus' Amnesia Ibiza residency. Also on board is talented Dallas upcomer Omair Mirza, who has captured the imagination of followers with his originals High Roller and Chain Reaction. His remix provides the typical cocktail of genres fused as his own.

And last but not least, Markus' good friends Wellenrausch are on hand to deliver two special remixes. The much admired duo, consisting of Torsten Fassbender and Markus Geisberger, has won the hearts of many thanks to their Dark Matter remix series, and their take on Erase You is in similar vein. However, they also go one step further with an even deeper effort; the Foxhole Version will be an unearthed gem.

Erase You is proof that a sequel can match the expectation and amour of an original story. Markus and Lady V's collaboration will forever be associated with one of trance's finest moments in 2014.

Rui Da Silva is an electronic music producer. He runs Kismet Records, his own, successful, independent music label. He DJs all over the world.

Rui has been involved in music since he was a kid and in the music business since he set up the Kaos Records label in Portugal in the early 90s with the label he kick started the dance scene in Portugal 

in 1993 Rui creates the legendary Underground Sound of Lisbon the most influential electronic dance band out of Portugal till this day. The Seminal "So get Up" originally released under his label Kaos Records went on to be licensed to Tribal Records in the US, the international release of So Get Up came packaged with mixes from Junior Vasquez and Danny Tenaglia. this record became a classic in the Sound Factory in New York with Junior playing it constantly every saturday. 

In 1999 he moved away from his label Kaos Records and relocated to London in a search for new challenges. He set up Kismet Records and started recording under his own name.

In 2001 his music leapt from club to radio when his song Touch Me became an international number one single. 

Today he continues to produce club tracks and experimental electronic music always, as he puts it, “trying to change the sound and evolve as staying still gets me bored”. 

Kismet is still going strong in the digital age with a mission to “help new upcoming talent to break into the electronic music scene”. 

Rui’s formative years, growing up in Portugal, were spent listening to music and one-deck DJing at parties. Early influences included Tones On Tail, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk and Brian Eno. “But when I was 16 or 17 I realised that DJing wasn’t fulfilling as i was basically playing other peoples music!” 

After that he started playing bass in a band. “That was frustrating as I was the only one into turning up for the rehearsals.” 

Then, the revelatory experience, he started listening to early house from the US and the UK. “I decided to sell the bass and amp and buy a Roland 909 (drum machine) and start creating music. I liked the way it was all about the music and nothing about image.” 

From there it was only a small step to becoming a producer, party animal, and label boss. 

And the future? More production of course. “If I don’t do music I feel agitated.” And more new ideas.
“Trying to learn a little bit more. Making music is like cooking, you must plan it, and you need to source the right ingredients. But if you cook all the time you can start experimenting. The best part of the creative process comes from mistakes but to make a track you must also be organised, it’s the pull between these two poles that makes a great song.” And plenty of quality releases on Kismet. “After so many years in the business I’m in a position to help people and develop new talent.” 

Rui Da Silva, at once professor and student, mentor and pupil, learning, evolving,  drawing on his experience while surfing the edge of new sounds.
