So good to see this MSX2 masterpiece getting the Project-R treatment. Digging the Trap direction you went for, with slight alterations to melody and progressions. The switch at 0:50 really accentuate the urgency of this advance, and the use of game sfx during this part is a nice touch. You've kept the qualities of the original Yamaha Y8950 composition while expanding on its chiptune fundations. Really great arrangement, made my day. :)

Got this idea in class one day when I remembered the little piano part that Rukunetsu had put in one of his tunes.  I really don't remember what tune it was, but I do know that it was him, lol!  ANYWAY, I wrote this while in class because IDGAF, I hope you all like it!

[2018] URGENT ADVANCE - METAL GEAR 2 Q-MIX

This week's remix is of one of the most nostalgic tracks by the talented Michael "Garoad" Kelly, the man responsible for the hauntingly atmospheric and beautiful soundtrack to VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action.

Lifting a fair bit from the original track in terms of sound choice and feel, I tried adding some light ideas of my own in terms of arrangement and reharmonisation.

Being relatively new to this kind of style, sound design was a big challenge, and if I were to spend more time on the track, it would be on refining sounds (such as the noise sweeps and the synth lead at the end).

In any case, I love this game and its soundtrack, and I hope you'll enjoy my very first homage towards it :)
