Rukus Presents Trap Sessions Vol.1

Jamie Kostromin, AKA Rukus, is a DJ of various genres from Swansea, Wales, UK. Rukus has been heavily involved in the music scene for a few years now, has hosted a number of events all over Swansea and still continues with his current event 'Beatdown' to bring bass music in all forms to the people of South Wales. 

Rukus first started out in Swansea's music scene by promoting for many local events to help spread the news of events and general info to the people of Swansea. Having grown a close relationship with Josh Henshaw and Gwilym Thomas, he was soon involved with the movement of 'Hug The Sub', one of the many big name events to make changes in Swansea's night life scene.

A few years into the promotional side of things, Rukus decided this wasn't enough. He quickly got to be a true lover of vinyl from his current DJ partner 'Vypa' when he first set his eyes on a pair of turntables. After locking himself away for a few months, they joined forces under the name 'Vypa & Rukus' and played their first set together supporting Tek-One for Dench! at the infamous Monkey Bar. The duo were soon recognised by fellow promoters throughout Swansea and were playing regular sets sometimes twice every weekend in numerous clubs, also consisting of their live show including a full acoustic drum kit.

Since their debut set at Dench!, they have resided numerous events including Marvel, Alliance, Sonic Boom!, Bass Face, Fiction, Dubbery and other various one time events.
These past 2 years have seen them supporting some of the biggest acts in the Drum & Bass and Dubstep scene.These include:-

Rukus has recently started his latest instalment of pushing Swansea's music scene forward with his new multi genre event Beatdown which is hosted in The Garage in Uplands. 

As well as putting on a monthly event for you all to enjoy, Beatdown also have a new guest mix each month from various local DJs where they make sure to cover every style and aspect of your music needs until the next event arrives! These are also available for free download!

Along with the production of Beatdown, Rukus intends to spread the cause to a wider variety of people with Beatdown Apparel which is due to launch their first drop of tees towards the end of March!

As if all this wasn't enough, Rukus is also an official member of the Never Say Die Records Street Team and has a weekly slot on multi genre radio station Noize FM.
