RUKUS returns with another fresh release from Matador, this time in the form of his mammoth Eightball EP.

Matador is a new school techno pioneer who has consistently served up hard hitting beats with plenty of synth invention and infectious rhythms. While the last year has been unprecedented for the live music industry, the Dublin producer has shown no let-up in his creativity and musical output as this new one shows.

The title track ‘Eightball’ is an infectious groove with a plucky 101 lead line, and rolling melodies peppered with tribal chants. It's pure dance floor gold. Then, on 'Higher,' a pumping bassline alongside seductive vocals and captivating synth work enthrals the listener and dances with the subconscious.

These are two more standout tracks from this vital artist.

Matador is back on his own mighty RUKUS label with his sizzling new Riches & Sins EP. Featuring vocals from Liz Cass and Ashley Slater, this EP marks another subtle evolution in the core Matador sound.

The Dublin artist has been at the top of his game, and the global scene for years now, and even the global pandemic hasn't slowed him down. It's all thanks to his dynamic techno style, expert synth craft and attention to detail which make him stand out from the crowd, and these two new cuts are a testament to his artistic flair.

Opening the EP, 'Riches & Sins' featuring Liz Cass pairs her spine tingling emotive vocal with booming kicks. The duality makes for a truly dramatic tune with an epic breakdown and then a rolling, hypnotic groove that is irresistible. 'Live Again' features typically heavy kicks and mysterious synth leads that draw you in from the off. The high pressure drums never let up and when heavenly melodies and an airy vocal from Ashley Slater arrive, they put you under their majestic spell as the tension grows. It's easy to see this one blowing up the dance floor as soon as we all return.

This is another standout EP from Matador, with plenty more lined up throughout the rest of the year.

Two techno legends Matador and Gaiser come together for a pair of new tunes on the former's mighty RUKUS label.

Matador is a new school hero who has made his own label into a bastion of techno quality, while Gaiser has been known for many outstanding releases and remixes on the industry's top labels such as Minus and Cocoon. They are both full of invention and studio trickery which is what makes this collaboration so enticing.

Impressions is first and is driven by booming kicks. Squirming synths wriggling about the mix with dry hits and a haunting vocal bringing the darkness. It's an all consuming and powerful tune that will make a big impact in any club. Jiggleho then gets more m anic and textured, with frazzled synths and chattery claps building the intensity over loopy drums. Some lush melodic sequences mark take off as this one hooks you in for a trippy ride.

These are two super tracks from a pair of techno titans.
