Rule #9 is a DIY Pop-punk, Easy-core, Rock band from Charleston, SC that likes to blur the lines of the rock scene. Playing together since 2006 Rule #9 was formed in 2010 and is the brain child of founding members; Kyle Porter, Kevin Porter & Robbie Drawdy. The band mixes pop-punk with harmonic solos, sing along lyrics and hardcore breakdowns. Rule #9 brings their music to the masses with performances full of passion and a unique sound that will leave a lasting impression on the rock scene. In November 2011 Rule #9 released their first EP, "Just The Tip..." with Subliminal Sound Studios in Goose Creek, SC which include the local hit “My Favorite Shade Of Red”. In January of 2012, the band was invited to be a part of one of the biggest local shows of the year which took place at The Music Farm in downtown Charleston, and featured local heavyweights such as The Izm and With Intent. In September 2012 the group began recording their second EP entitled "Expedition For Excellence" which was a DIY record, recorded, mixed and mastered, all in a friends garage. The EP was released in December of 2012. In the midst of the recording process, the band received another incredible opportunity when they were asked to open the breakout band Dead Sara at The Music Farm, their single “Aurora” was also played on a local radio show. In 2013 after 3 years of hard work on the local circuit, Rule #9 won a battle of bands which featured some of Charleston’s best local bands. The band was awarded a complimentary 3 song EP from Monarch Studios, which is set to be released in October of 2013. Rule #9 aims to continue taking South Carolina by storm and eventually the nation so keep your eyes and ears out!

Over the past 3 years Rule #9 has had the privilege of opening for and sharing the stage with such incredible national acts such as; Call Me The Patriot, American Speedway, Sirens & Sailors, Fur Elise, Your Chance To Die, Set It Off, Patent Pending, The Bunny The Bear, Death Is A Dialogue, Terra Terra, Fusebox Poet, Guttermouth and Dead Sara just to name a few.
