It’s a rare moment in the life of Robert Hood’s M-Plant label when he hands over to another producer, but no surprise that he should pick Mark Broom for the next release, seeing as he’s previously been entrusted to provide edits of Hood’s tracks for the label’s 20th Anniversary celebrations (MPM19) and is currently tearing up dancefloors with his unreleased dubplate mix of Floorplan’s ‘Never Grow Old’.

The original version of ‘Stunned’ was released on Mark Broom & Dave Hill’s renowned Pure Plastic label back in 1997. The “97 Mix” featured here started as a live mix of the track, which Mark has now tweaked for maximum dancefloor devastation.

It’s accompanied on the flip side by a brand new composition of equally outstanding quality. Broom is in fine form on ‘Decay’ with his tight production skills delivering the kind of tough, raw Techno that sits perfectly on M-Plant.

E-Missions co-founder P.Leone returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids this September with ‘The My Lita Project’ backed with remixes from Mark Broom and Spencer Parker. 

Originally hailing from New York, P.Leone now resides in Berlin where he helms his E-Missions imprint with releases from himself and co-founder Caiazzo, exciting new artists like Rush Plus and Tred, not to mention remixes from Young Male, Spencer Parker and Lawrence Lee. Leone has also dropped a variety of releases on Rekids and Work Them Records, when not making regular appearances at clubs like Tresor and ://about blank. He now returns to Radio Slave’s respected imprint with ‘The My Lita Project’, following up his highly lauded ‘El Dorado’ EP that garnered support from Ben Sims, Jackmaster and Spencer Parker. 

‘My Lita’ kicks things off with classic synths, piercing strings and choppy vocals slices whilst robust drums march forward. Meanwhile, ‘Tight In The Pocket’ is more dark and menacing in comparison with its syncopated percussion, echoing claps and ethereal atmospherics. 

On the flip, Mark Broom drops two different remixes of ‘My Lita’; the first is a robust cut complete with disco elements like funky guitar licks and soulful voice, with the original’s stabs shining throughout, whilst the second remix takes a different route with its crunchy snares, moaning murmurs and fuzzy effects. Spencer Parker rounds things off with a remix of his own, chopping up the original’s vox whilst sultry pads join thumping kicks and quivering melodies.

The My Lita Project

After his previous monster anthem “Kawasaki” which was played out and supported by nearly the entire Techno scene 2000 and One has returned to his home base 100% Pure with “Womb Raider”.

Title track “Womb Raider” is inspired by Eats Everything’s recent release “Space Raiders”. It’s a clear tribute to the early 90’s UK Breakbeat Techno raves.

Second track “Moogie” reflects on 2000 and One’s deep love for Chicago Jack House music pioneers such as Lil Louis, Farley “Jackmaster” Funk and Armando.

Theo Nasa makes his debut on Rekids this December with ‘Worldwide Ravers EP’.

The Alien Sound Trax boss, who has previously appeared on the likes of World Unknown, Suara, and UNCAGE, makes his mark on Radio Slave’s imprint with the hard-hitting and distinct ‘Worldwide Ravers EP’.

Deeply infused with the unmistakable sound of the UK, Nasa draws from his broad range of influences for his EP, distilling elements of Jungle, Rave, and Hardcore into his own brand of meticulously crafted, difficult-to-pigeonhole techno. Opener ‘Dubska’, clocking in at over ten minutes long, is a relentless and fast-paced affair, bubbling along at breakneck speed with the help of classic vocal samples, while ‘World Dance (Rinse Out Mix)’ fuses breakbeats and droning bass to create a high energy track that twists and turns at 140bpm. Field recordings of birds in ‘Summertime Raving In London’ sit alongside classic drum kits and emotive chords while living up to its titular character.
