I år sklei vi inn i vårt tiende år som et grensesprengende, progressivt og tilstedeværende band som folk kan stole på. Vi vil gjerne takke for all støtte vi fått av våre familier, kollegaer, venner og fans! Den overveldende tilbakemeldingen på vår fjerde langspiller og årets harde pakke under treet, ”Grace and Nuance”, gjør at vi kan se tilbake på 2013 som et fabelaktig år for Rumble in Rhodos. Vår gave til dere er denne remixen som vår mann Øyvind Røsrud Gundersen har gjort av siste sporet på vår nye plate. Remixen høres ut som juleverkstedet hjemme hos Lindstrøm, hvor Bob Geldoff og M83 fletter hver sin dorullnisse mens de fråtser i marsipan. Låten er en instrumental for at folk lett skal kunne synge julen inn selv. Du kan f.eks synge hele ”Last Christmas” over uten så mye som ei tone feil..

Rumble in Rhodos is a band born in Oslo in 2003. If you haven’t heard of them before, you’ve missed four full-length albums, one EP, and more than 400 energetic indie rock shows doused with touches of no-wave, danceable post-punk, while accented by obtrusive underground. The previous album, “Signs of Fervent Devotion”, released april 2011 received outstanding reviews throughout Scandinavia and Europe. It scored 6/6 in two of norways biggest national papers (VG & Dagbladet) and earned a norwegian grammy nomination for best rock record. You also missed them play floorshows in basements, squats, pubs, and clubs throughout Europe to thousands of kids. You have missed them play more than 50 big festivals, from the indie tents of 10 fans to the big stages of 10 000. You missed them win the award, “Favourite New International Artist”, at The Indies 2006 in Toronto, Canada. You’ve missed them winning Fadar magazine’s Dr. Dog award as “5 young dudes who have crazy moustaches, don’t dress up like assholes and don’t pose”.

Rumble in Rhodos have fused a fascination of old fashioned Punk/Funk, Art Rock, 70’s Prog Rock, and modern indie rock into an expression which shakes your core and gently caresses the small of your back. They´ve added to the already ambitious and pulsating effort, a calm and balance needed to communicate the album’s ingenuity. While crafted in a cheeky and daring way, it shocks as it delivers. Rarely does such a hungry and greedy rock record from Norway, resonate so thoroughly. So, look out for this unusual breath of northern air, as Rumble in Rhodos release their fourth consecutive album on Cosmos Music. With a track list packed with hits and their most thoroughly crafted material to date, they have shone a light to their future sound.
