As Gangsta Boo passed away early this year, I decided to remix his song 'Hard Not 2 Kill' as a tribute to her and her work.

The process of making this track has been very personal and therapeutic, as my uncle died few days after her, also in a surprising way. He didn't like gangsta rap, but he was a gangsta in his own way, so here is it for him as well.

Bota Dub

One of the most successful Italian drum & bass acts from the last decade, Was A Be turns to a new page of his artistic journey, retaining his signature sound and taking it to a wider spectrum of styles.

Highly precise and technically proficient, Was A Be delves deep into the darker shades of techno and electro with two original tracks. The two tracks also get the remix treatment by Reveries mainstays Noroi and F L V X X X.

“Hallucination” is a dark and seductive techno track that moves sinuously between sophisticated sound design and echoes of rave that certainly come from Was A Be’s expertise within the realm of drum & bass. “#10”, co-produced with Kiu D, goes on the opposite direction. It’s an electro track particularly reminiscent of the old school b-boy era from the 80’s, but with modern sound design and aesthetics. On the remixes, Noroi takes “Hallucination” down an even darker path, exposing its foundation through thunderous jersey club thumps. F L V X X X instead goes for a hyper speed ghetto blasting attitude, dabbling with Dance Mania aesthetics and updating it with modern uk-inspired sonics.

Once again, a track for every type of DJ and vibe out there. Whether you’re playing at a dimly lit elegant bar early in the night or in front of a packed ecstatic crowd during peak time, there’s something for everyone: the way Reveries imagines and configures its ideal of contemporary clubbing.

Was A Be & Kiu D - #10 (F L V X X X Remix)

Rumbler is back with a huge DnB remix from LEJÍA, one of Madrid’s must to watch producers and DJs, who’s shaking the scene with a wide broad palette of high energy music styles from the hardcore continuum. Rumbler, which opened the latest edition of Barcelona’s Sonar Festival, has released music in several local labels like Abundance or Noise Pollution, collaborating with artists from diverse music scenes such as Broken Lip (BSN Posse), SN Systema, Brava! or Megane Mercury. This time, releasing on Darkhorse Music, a new label based in Madrid, he goes back to his earliest influences as a DJ, which was 90’s and 00’s drum and bass records, taking the original dubby vibe of ‘No-ID’ into a sharp synths and breaks banger at 160BPMs.

The album was written over the past year as I created music I truly love, and in doing so, these tracks naturally came together as a cohesive body of work that I’m grateful to present. For me it was a study in contrasts — momentum and stillness, ancestry and futurism, the known and the unknown.
