Following on from their debut release 'Forbidden Fruit' and their follow up single 'Check Mate' – the FiNE guys are back in full force with their Cloud 9 EP which includes the title track accompanied by three incredible remixes by K.A.L.I.L, Elliott Creed and Jack Colletta.

The original - high in energy and rich with tension that gradually builds with winding synths and tastefully sliced vocal cuts throughout the composition.

Our favourite Brazilian brother K.A.L.I.L then takes the track and stays true to the melodic aspects of the original but has produced a driving techno, rave like stomper.

Geelong's own Elliott Creed dives deep with a euphoric rendition of Cloud 9, pulling on the heart strings and emotional side of the melodies to create his own unique spin – a true timeless piece of music.

Rounding out the EP is Jack Colletta with a fun, bouncy and minimalistic remix, keeping the original melodies on the forefront of the drive and transporting us to memories of those fun day time dance floor energies.

The latest release on Nikko.Z's Dopamine White finds the label showcasing new interpretations of Matteo Gargallo's ‘Inner Truth'. Released in July of this year, it marked the Italian artist's debut on the label alongside remixes from Christian Monique and Pavlin Petrov. The track's strong astral narrative was well-received, with all three versions sitting in Matteo's Beatport best sellers chart to this day. Now, looking to breathe new life into the track, Dopamine White invites Freemann (IT), ThinkDeep and Goda Brother to provide their own interpretations for the impending winter club season.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of ‘Inner Truth' is Freemann (IT). Born and raised in Greece but now calling Italy home, Theodoros Katsigiannis aka Freemann has a short but tidy discography. Astral Records, Beatfreak, ONISM and Three Hands Records have played host to his melodic techno sound, while world class DJs Solomun, Fideles, Kevin De Vries and more have chimed in with support along the way. Now stepping to Dopamine White for his first appearance on the label, Freemann (IT) takes ‘Inner Truth' into his world of cosmic meanderings and meditative grooves. Spanning seven magical minutes, Freeman's imaginative rework resonates on a profound level, as he expertly transforms the parts into a consciousness-expanding conversion of musical ideas where sleek dance floor minded rhythms meet unpredictable sonic clusters, ethereal effects and hopeful overlays.

Returning to the label and providing the second interpretation of ‘Inner Truth' is ThinkDeep. Hailing from Greece, ThinkDeep first emerged in 2020 with an EP courtesy of MIR Music. With a sound that sat in the creative space between progressive house and melodic techno, the Athens resident was quickly noticed by Sound Avenue's Future Avenue imprint where he would go on to release his 'Illusions' EP the following year. Having made his Dopamine White debut in October with the well received ‘'Two Sided' EP, ThinkDeep now returns to the label with a stellar rendition of ‘Inner Truth'. Tough and groovy in equal measure, it's a mix that carries the sensibility of the original, while adding a contemporary vibe through astral phrasing and otherworldly effects, all while a well constructed framework keeps that dance floor energy on lock. 

The release concludes with Goda Brother providing the third and final interpretation of ‘Inner Truth'.  Hailing from Egypt, Goda Brother has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for well over a decade. With over one hundred discography entries to his credit, the Alexandria resident has found a home on Balkan Connection, Droid9, Eat My Hat Music, Movement Recordings and Sound Avenue. Now bringing his far-reaching sound to Dopamine White, Goda Brother delivers an inspired take on ‘Inner Truth'. Setting the piece in motion, a foundation of punchy kicks and striking stabs build momentum, before breaking off as a strong astral motif lands for a magical dance floor moment. Buzzing sonics, cosmic chord stabs and wavy arps add depth and colour leading into the main break. Here, Goda Brother relieves tension with an emotive, key changing interlude complete with heartfelt pianos and warm bass swells, before those striking stabs re-emerge for a strong finale.

Mind Echoes - With Me

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the month of August by presenting the sixteenth edition of their SIX:Stage-X compilation series. At just over four years into its existence, the beloved various artists showcase continues to search the globe for the freshest new talent that the electronic underground has to offer, oftentimes featuring a cohesive blend of progressive and melodic techno styles. SIX: Stage-16 follows suit and lands in impressive fashion with exclusive music from (in order of appearance) Rockka, Neuralis, NAASA, Redspace, Franco Romano and Maraudon. Leading the release off is Rockka who returns to the label following his remix of 'EsQadar' by Dr Green and Moodfreak. The Sri Lankan's latest is entitled 'Black Sands' and sets a strong tone for the release with a groovy style and dark yet electrifying storyboard. Selection two finds Neuralis making his label debut with the chugging grooves of 'Arritmia'. The Spanish artist crafts a chunky, rhythmic journey which flows through peaks and valleys to translate a goosebump-inducing narrative to the dance floor. Label debutantes NAASA arrive to SLC-6 Music in grand fashion with 'Perfect Time', a track which finds the duo showcasing their heartfelt melodies and poignant designs to great effect. Marking the collection's halfway point is Redspace who also makes an impressive first solo effort for SLC-6 with '1994'. Well-established with releases via Droid9 and Univack, the fast rising artist delivers a modern day progressive chugger, highlighted by ghostly tones and an earnest piano line which perfectly sets up a dark drop. Fresh off releases for Beat Boutique and MNL, Franco Romano delivers selection five 'Parallel Universe'. The Argentine's stompy beats and key changing bass stabs provide a sturdy dancefloor framework, while a tantalizing melodic lead adds depth and colour throughout. The release concludes with newcomer Maraudon presenting his first official production 'Orea'. As a strong debut it rounds out the release with a perfect blend of techno inspired beats, trippy effects and a tension filled break to set up a heads down finale.

We are both very happy to welcome back Marino Canal on Siamese. Everyone remembers his first record for us well, a timeless yet forward thinking and fresh release that's tough to beat. Marino made it possible though, his upcoming `Provenance` EP is a clear evolution of his style, mature, intelligent and ready for 2020.

'Curious Eyes' is the track we received first. We’re playing it since quite a while and it easily stood the test of time. Marino’s gift of creating energetic and powerful yet lush tracks is very unique and this song surely tells a story. Truly a great piece of modern dance music. 

Next is ‚Provenance‘, the title track of the EP. Similar to 'Curious Eyes‘ it starts gentle while giving the selector some time and space for mixing
and creating something artful while playing this out. As the deep and mellow chords soak you into the track the remaining layers are steering towards the climax where ‚Provenance' reveals its full potential. And before its even finished you want to hear it all over again.

'Dreamt of Tomorrow‘, the final cut of the release makes it even harder to pick a favorite and we're considering if we should have kept at least one track for the next
EP. Kidding aside, there’s nothing stopping Marino’s ever evolving expertise and this track resembles how a dream of tomorrow could feel like. Beauty, hope and kindness on one hand, madness, destruction and anger on the other. A perfect way to close a great record and there could be no better entry into 2020 for Siamese.
