The idea of a place where you're surrounded by familiar faces, great music, and an incredible atmosphere. A space where you can truly be yourself, host parties, and share your love for music with like-minded people.

The loss of The Gaso comes as a real shock, and here at Rummikub, we're all still trying to process it. We’ve had some magical moments there, whether with loved ones, new friends, or artists we idolize, it was a place that felt like home.

As a tribute to the venue, I wrote a track that I wish I could have played there. I pictured the roof open on a warm summer afternoon, people bouncing, the energy rising. I wanted large, washed-out chords against the backdrop of a rolling bass, something to soundtrack the transition from evening into night.

I asked my fellow Rummikub members, Lewy C and Jousting Sticks, to perform a miracle and remix the track within 24 hours. Both delivered something totally unique and deeply personal, putting their own spin on the original.
This might seem dramatic, but the loss of venues like this is a real blow to the scene. Thank you to everyone who supported us when we organized events there staff and, of course, David, who helped us so much put our nights together.

This mix is curated for Fluid Funk, a Rotterdam based label for soulful electronic music. This mix will therefore consist of Soulful House music and anything that comes close to this.

In this mix, Ben Diggins will showcase a warm and funky sound from my record collection that will fit nicely with the sound of Fluid Funk. It will resemble the style that I used for my upcoming release with them. It will mostly contain tracks from the 90s and early 2000s, with some new stuff and plenty of own productions in there.
