It is non-ritual, lyric Belarusian folk song, telling about the sadness and fear, that young girl feels when autumn nights come. Autumn was a period of marriages. For young girls it meant separation from native family and moving to another village - main reasons of sadeness, and also joining a new family, that often implied hard work and oppression from the new relatives.

It is non-ritual Belarusian folk song, very popular and connected to "girls and marriage" topic. Lyrics tells the story about a girl that was dancing and lost her keys. She promises to marry anyone who finds it. The keys were found by an old man who asks her to marry him, but the girl refuses and says that it's better to lose the keys forever than to marry an old man.

Marriages between young girls and old men were quite often in our past, and it was not fun. But the ambiguously colored text gives the performer opportunity to choose his own intonation, from humorous to dramatic. I tried to choose serious and even dark tone.
