This is the first single “Nimm Mini Hand” from the upcoming new album “Let Love Rumpel (Part 1)” by Kalabrese.
In the middle of the Pandemic Kalabrese finds his way back to ease, regaining the Rumpelfunk and finalized a new album. „Let Love Rumpel (Part 1)“ is a marvelously light, warm dance. The music goes to the hip and to the heart and automatically we start to dance. From the very first bars it’s clear, that Kalabrese developed his very own signature sound which feels like coming home and diving into the Rumpel universe again. Not to be missed, there is underton of sadness; delightfully melancholic.

“Nimm Mini Hand“ is the first lead single and marks the album campaign kick-off. It’s accompanied by a beautiful video:

The song is a ray of hope in the blurryness and uncertainity of the pandemic. There’s a big desire to escape, to turn towards the beautiful things again. Kalabrese’s Rumpelorchester gently strolls off beat through lush and densely flourished city gardens. Kalaspatz’s hopeful lyrics which become totally cute, interplaying in sync with singer Palma Ada. Where although the song is starting out quite blurry, it’s building and progressing into a sunset feeling. A bittersweet cello and a warm brass section in great company on top. An elegant Rumpel-Dance on its way.

Nimm Mini Hand is a collective work with the Rumpelorchester, that has its beginnings on one afternoon. A cozy, slow and sexy groove, that flows together into a song, which picks up pace more and more to the ending. Kalabrese wrote a text about finding a way around in a world that is increasingly dominated by tensions and trench warfare and a personal way out: if you build your own oasis with friends, you will find peace and harmony for new projects. Palma Ada doubles Kalabrese in the verses. Tillmann Ostendarp drums the hypnotic off-beat with Dominik Löhrer’s tom-sound. Marton Dobozi delivers the grumpy guitar chords. And the “renaissance man” Balint Dobozi has found the desired melody and the funky chords on the Jupiter 6, which take us on a floaty journey.

Last Drive features the trio Lapcat. After a conjoined clubtour, Kalabrese invited the four members of the indie-electronica band Lapcat into his studio. Mastermind Hans-Jakob Mühlentaler contributed the guitar hook. The relaxed house beat is Kalabrese's part. Cate Leuenberg and Kalabrese are telling the story of the last drive before separation. Cate finds the melancholia and drama, but stays focused and unpretentious. Kala rounds it up with his typical style; makes Miles Davis und Lou Reed a part of it, whose cassette tape has been played in the car on the last drive. A lovely reminiscence to his heroes. The song persuades its listener through the constant drive and has its roots in 2017 as the oldest rumpelresult on the album.

goes into the next round and continues from where it stopped with the longplayer „independent dancer“, namely songwriting, where the singer legitimately is part of, where the groove declares its love to the melody and the singing. somehow dancepop, just following the own rules. „hello asshole“ comes with a crispy swinging groove, which is almost a breakbeat and the sounddesign sweeps splendidly. and then this compelling guitar riff appears and together with the voice and a bold synthi-line, it lifts us to new heights; right where you just drift away, big number, somehow stoned, but still kicking. jimi jules is a true musician, who prefers recording everything by hand, just like kalabrese, and sings himself, when he’s in the right mood and has something to say. currently he’s busy recording his debut album, trying to express himself and refining his style. jules is one of zurich’s up-and-coming talent and already had a bunch of releases, no matter if techy, housy or some kind of dancepop, this boy rules.

The b-side’s „kafi-lied“ is an ode to the coffee drinking. taking time in the morning and starting the day with a relaxed mood. and the voice of sarah palin, singer of the rumpelorchester, gives the song the energy to gleam over everything to passionately throw oneself into the day and fall in love. Once again a strong performance by the zurich vocalist, the soul breathing just like fresh coffee flavor. The rumpelorchester guys join with a „rumply“ choir and kalabrese adds the white milk froth with the right groove and his characteristic analogue synthi pads.

matthew 'indemnity' herbert runs against the storm with his „desperate man“ version and sparks a rolling fire of distortion synthesizers and blazing pads and voices. a peak-time bomb becoming also a whisky song à la tom waits as later the night gets.
martin gretschmann aka acid pauli remains slenderly, takes away the euphoria of „wanzka“’s afro and rotates about some synthesizer-modules and a groove as dry as dust, the afterhour isn ́t far away...
âme’s frank wiedemann masterly unrolls the dub and focusses on the solid choir of „stone on your back“. a strong massive track, fairly arousing, but also hugging the dancefloor and pointing to everybody’s hearts.

The B-Side features another character from Zurich’s music scene: rapper SKOR declares his love for Zurich’s red light district, suppported by lyrics from Swiss rap legend EKR and Tinguely dä Chnächt. The beat was made in Kalabrese’s studio with Rumpelorchester members Valentino Tomasi and Marton di Katz.

KAYYAK is part of the Hekaya Collective, based in Zurich. They started organizing parties at Club Zukunft, the Homebase of Kalabrese. Kalabrese became friend and mentor and started supporting the young talent Kayyak. And when he came up with two funky song-scetches Kalabrese was thrilled and the collaboration started. The A-Side „Make No Time“ has a strong afro-like guitar theme and a driven melodic bassline on top the famous rumpel-groove. A positive happy ride. On the B- Side the duo gets deeper and create a fantastic late night jam. The duo sings „Loose your fear and find your partner, make your way to relaxation“ while the groove gets more and more hypnotic, Kalabrese sits on the drums and finds a way of relaxation without losing the focus on the steady beat.
