In Between Worlds was inspired both by the otherworldly atmosphere of the marshes that I feel deeply drawn into each time I immerse myself in their ethereal beauty, and by the wild and ecstatic energies I have experienced at the electronic festival Forest Star in Sweden where I played at Midsummer 2023. Both these contrasting energies are expressed and reflected in this song, a journey from the mystical wilderness to the heart of a tribal ritual, bewitched by the magic of life in the various shapes it may take.

Viking music meet elettronic music, in a really experimental soundscape! 

The project started in January 2017 finally takes shape, born from the idea of combining the sonority of electro music such as downtempo, bass music and drum & bass with archaic sounds typical of the Blòt Heathen. 

The project is "only", so it will not have, in our opinion, a continuity with other similar releases, but will release "classic" relics in the ritual / Viking style of the Blòt Heathen. 

So old fans, do not be discouraged!

SHAMANISM

"Kvinnekraft" (woman energy) was inspired after a woman circle during january's full moon. I came back home, stared at the magical moon that brightened the snowy landscape and this drum rythm followed by the singing melody and the words came to me naturally.

There is something powerful happening when women gather in a circle, like a pure healing energy born from the bound we create with one an other when we meet as our true authentic self, accepting both our strength and vulnerability, sharing both our inspiration and our wounds, without judgment or competition... reviving the sisterhood spirit!

Rúnahild is a singer, musician and composer. Her ethereal folk music is characterized by heartfelt female singing, earthly rhythms and dreamy melodies. She lives in a tiny cottage in the mountains of Western Norway, following the rhythm of the northern seasons.
