Born in the Faroe Islands, Eivør’s early musical forays were steeped in Faroese musical traditions. Now residing in Denmark, her music covers a wide musical and emotional range, with themes of love, loss, memory, freedom and nature. She remains a voice unique in its intimacy, its effortless virtuosity and range of colours, evident from her first recording all the way through to her ninth and tenth albums, Bridges and Slør both released in 2015.

"Kvinnekraft" (woman energy) was inspired after a woman circle during january's full moon. I came back home, stared at the magical moon that brightened the snowy landscape and this drum rythm followed by the singing melody and the words came to me naturally.

There is something powerful happening when women gather in a circle, like a pure healing energy born from the bound we create with one an other when we meet as our true authentic self, accepting both our strength and vulnerability, sharing both our inspiration and our wounds, without judgment or competition... reviving the sisterhood spirit!

Kvinnekraft

Rúnahild is a singer, musician and composer. Her ethereal folk music is characterized by heartfelt female singing, earthly rhythms and dreamy melodies. She lives in a tiny cottage in the mountains of Western Norway, following the rhythm of the northern seasons. Her free spirited lifestyle close to nature is an inseparable part of her artistic expression.
