You swig your ninth Manhattan for the evening in a dingy hole in the wall hidden beneath a suspended railway. The atmosphere is thick with stale booze and smoke. A single spotlight falls on a stool on a stage that was once a shipping crate. An old man climbs onto the tattered leather seat. His wild hair and beard make sense of the torn 50s-gas-station-atendant shirt he has on.  He taps the mic. You say to no one in particular, “That’s Charles Bukowski, back from the dead. Dance you animals!”
