A bit of a role reversal today as I interview Scott Jones from BecomingUltra.com. Usually I am the interviewee and he is the interviewer, but as we continue on our partnership, I wanted to bring him on ours just in case you are interested in Ultra marathons, but don’t know where to start.

Scott is a expert in helping you reach your fitness goes, be in running your first ultra or just getting in shape. He has spent years as a personal trainer, working in corporate fitness and putting on his own events. A few years ago he got started with his flagship podcast AthleteOnFire and as he began interviewing more and more endurance athletes, saw the need to provide resources for those interested in running an ultra marathon. And BecomingUltra.com was born.

If you are tired of the same old thing, the same type of races, the same type of workouts, I am sure you will get some inspiration from today's guest on Episode 6 – Calum Neff.

Calum is in the middle of a crazy running year that includes a world record in the Half-marathon while pushing a stroller. A week of races that included an indoor marathon, a timed race is based on an LP vinyl record speed, LP 33-1/3, and then a 50k trail run. This is all leading up to his third time running the Wings for Life World Run.

He likes trying new things and finding different ways that he can do the things he loves and believe that unique perspective has, one, led to more joy in running, and two, motivates him knowing that there is a lot out there.

In our conversation, we talk about all these events and how he approached each one, and why he believes it is important to be a lifestyle athlete.

In The Long Run - Longevity in Running & Life

A place of worship can take many forms: church, temple, synagogue, mosque, etc. For Run Gum CEO, his church has always and will always be nature. The outdoors is where he feels fully alive and most connected to something larger than himself, larger than all of us.
