Label head SPF 50 returns to Professional Music with a five-track EP of propulsive, dub-infused material. This record delves deep into our moody, atmosphere-driven take on the dance floor, undulating between straight four-on-the-floor energy, heavy breakbeat science and euphoric ambience. Swung layers of rhythm gel with misty chords and 808 bass pressure, riding the line between 2-step excitement and hypnotic, long-form arrangements. This is introspective body music, steeped in the sonic worlds of UK bass, looped 90’s techno and grainy dub.

Northern powerhouse Perseus Traxx is on spaced out form with this four-tracker celebrating ancient Greek mysticism.

Basslines as deep as sunken treasure, acid that’s worthy of the psychedelic origins of its name, and synths that spin off into infinity make up an uncompromising, mesmerising EP.

As the sample on ‘Star Destroyer’ proclaims, “It’s all about the soul.”

Russia's Radial Gaze duo lands on Thisbe Recordings for the release of their 'Refined' EP. The project features three original tracks and two remixes. Drawing on Andrey’s background as a resident DJ at Skotny Dvor club and Stas’ background as a sound designer and both theatre and musical director, ‘Refined’ is a perfect representation of the dramatic club music the duo are known for. We are airing the remix contribution from Theus Mago today.

As a label, we will seek to shine a light on psychedelic music of all designs and the first release will focus on the dance variety. It is the label’s hope that the love and friendship that brought this project together will shine through in the music. 

Grim Beazley’s ‘Acid Leaf’ evokes a memory of crowded peak time floors. The song’s gentle introduction gives way to powerful 303/909 interplay and leaves us yearning to go back to that place.

Dwarde & Tim Reaper open things up with the airy roller Hydraulics paving the way for DJ Sports’ warped remix of one of their previously released collaborations. The rugged-yet-ethereal sounds of Richard Harrow’s Aftermath open the flip, before the breakneck Whip by Merph & Mantissa brings this to a tearout close.

Bristol producer Boulderhead combines his affinity to minimalism with a range of influences across the club spectrum on Super Portal.

The minimal, breakbeat flaked Metamaterial opens before the stripped-out acid of the aptly named Wanna Go To A Party that evokes its title. On the flip, Super Portal combines broken bristol techno rhythms with a hypnotic driving synth while skeletal stepper Humons combines muted chords with skippy drums. Closing proceedings is Grooverider, a rumbling roller that succeeds in making a lot out of few elements.
