Running The Risk is a four piece, Los Angeles based rock band formed in 2011. The lineup consists of front-woman Nicki Taylor, guitarist Nick Bell, bassist Erik Ralston, & drummer Aaron Cohan. Over a short span of time, the band has gotten the attention of bloggers, radio stations, and rock music lovers alike.

Their first output as a group was a collection of tunes/demos rightfully called "The Monster EP" which contained original songs centered around impulses of love, hate, and rebirth. Running the Risk decided to give the EP away for free, and it quickly spread around the web, gaining positive reviews from fans and critics. As well as radio play around Central California.

Soon after their first release, on July 3rd, 2012, the band released a second EP on iTunes that contained two songs you may have heard before: Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" (which has been flipped, turned, and jacked up) along with Talk Talk's "Talk Talk." The band has been hush hush about where the idea to mix these two songs came from; they're only explanation so far has been "Because We Can," which has now rightfully become the title.

Even when the EP takes a turn to the pop with “Talk Talk” there is a natural ability Running the Risk has to turn it into more than a song made by New Wave Brits thirty years ago. They masterfully spike the 80s pop with slick guitar, heavy beats, digital backing and raw raunchy delivery. Simply put they make “Talk Talk” cool. ”

Over the past year the band has been playing shows up and down California at known venues such as the House of Blues, Universal Studios, Viper Room and many more. They’re currently promoting “Because We Can” while building their web-based following on social networks. Expect much more for the future because they’re not slowing down just yet.
