Deekline and Tipa Irie are bringing the smooth grooves and ragga vibes in the place on their latest colab for Jungle Cakes. Setting the perfect mood for the summer Deekline has laced this chilled out, tropical Jungle beat with Tipa’s infectious vocal. Calling up Voltage & Nicky Blackmarket for remix duties they’ve kept some of the Caribbean feel but added some down low dirt to the mix. And no Deekline release would be complete with out some garage for the house heads, bringing a little bit of the 90s warehouse feel to the release, a sub heavy sound that will cause some serious damage on the floor.

The Ragga Twins have been consistently involved in the underground dance music scene way before the birth of jungle so it’s no surprise that once again they are dropping some wicked tunes back to back with Serial Killaz. Two original microphone pioneers combined with two legendary jungle producers equals one heavyweight selection from the Serial Killaz offshoot label, Street Life.

Deman Rocker and Flinty Badman fling down an array of uplifting, high energy bars throughout which are complemented by that true jungle sound that only the Serial Killaz camp can bring.

Setting the pace from the off with the original lick of ‘Duppy Sound’. Driven by The Ragga Twins, it’s a mixture of rough and tough reggae fueled jungle and summertime vibes - perfect for both those rare real jungle events and ram jammed festivals. Some may notice the quirky time stretched vocals which pay a special dedication to that well known Akai sampler that was used more than a few times in the early 90’s.

The full vocal version of the dancehall tear out mix slams the door tightly shut on the EP and fires from all cylinders to maximum effect. Bringing that early 2000’s vibe into 2017 with total devastation. Crunching snares, aggressive bass and with the addition of reworked vocals from The Ragga Twins, it takes the original and flips it on its head.

Not only are you getting the full vocal version of this wicked tune and the dancefloor tear out mix but the instrumentals are also included with the EP. Perfect for dropping in and out alongside another slammer from the virtual record box.

The South West’s bass boutique Run Tingz have just completed their biggest release to date bar none… Ladies and gentlemen, revolution time is at hand. 

Decorated vocal artist, and long-standing face at Run Tingz, YT has selected highlights from his ground breaking third album ‘Revolution Time’ with full blessing to ‘go to town and Junglize’ them. They’ve done what any astute artists would do in their situation and hooked up with their illustrious companions the Serial Killaz to produce a project that will wake waves the world over. A co-lab of killer proportions, make way for Killa Tingz… 

‘Revolution Time’ is undiluted audio justice. Opening with cinematic sweeping synths and an epoch-defining news sample, the boys then throw us savagely into a series of blistered breakbeats and oozing subs. As YT’s sing-song chatter re-emerges, it’s a total revolution of the mind and senses.

Next up ‘Save Mi Life’: here we find the Serial Killaz going solo for a rifle-like skank-up. Teasing us with a well-known Toots bassline and another razor-sharp riddim, YT’s tale of musical assistance in his journey from badman to mic professor is told so emphatically you’ll be singing along before you’ve even made it to the break down. It’s got anthem written all over it!

‘Forward 2 Life’ sees Run Tingz Cru dive deep into a major hype vibe; with dark stabs and pummelling drumwork, it’s the ideal bed for YT’s turbo-chatter. Heads down and rolling, complete with cool twists on the fills and an epic breakdown, it’s a fine, fine fusion of lullaby Reggae and uncompromising Jungle science.    

The generous EP ends on a softer, emotional note as YT and Dub Akom’s ‘Nah Gi Yu Weh’ shows the crew flexing their melodic muscles. Highlighting the subtle lover’s rock and dancehall flavours of the original, YT and Akom’s heartfelt pledges remain the focus while the production duo accentuate the skank factor and polish the sweet textures of organic instrumentation to perfection.
