Following up quickly here from the last edition...I present my 3rd mix in my series "Coming Out Of The Dark" which happens to represent me, a DJ of well over 20 years, sticking my neck out and back into the light showcasing some great tunes I'm currently into and providing a generous peek at what I can do with these tunes in a little over an hour in the form of a DJ mix I'm really proud of.

Coming Out Of The Dark Pt. 3

Dimitri aka SYLK has been tightly woven in the west coast bass scene for 7+ years. Teaching himself Ableton after graduating high school in 2011. Seeking further knowledge Dimitri pursued music school in LA in 2014. This lead to being immersed in the west coast festival circuit, where he gained many friends that shared his passion for music, community, and sharing different personal approaches to creating and composing. 

SYLK is a very emotionally steered project with hip-hop and trap drums being the back bone. Lots of the productions are in the moment creations, striving to produce something unique. SYLK has tendency to be complex and very intricate. He has been told before he has presence of story telling in his audio soundscapes.

In this mix I was aim to share some of the new sounds that have been inspiring me as of late. Some of these tracks are heavier than I normally would play, but I have found that this sonic journey I am on is consistently changing and I am finding new sounds (heavier, grittier, full spectrum bass, some UKG) to be more appealing! I have also sprinkled in some SYLK originals to share what I’ve been making in the last couple years. 

PS. Shout out Mr. Carmack you are the GOAT! That’s why I play 3 of his tracks. Also special thank you to the EAZYBAKED boys, VIDE, and Milano you all are and inspiration to the bass music community, you all push the boundaries!
