Growing up in a rich multi-cultural environment and being raised by a mother who was a dedicated music collector, it seemed inevitable that Rushmo would become a DJ/Producer.⁣ As a young boy, he and his older brother created mixtapes using the radio, 'Mom's records' and a tape recorder. A similar origins story resonates with many of the greatest DJs.⁣

His diverse appreciation for music from all around world is certainly evident in his genre bending sets - he has a distinctly unique ability to stick to a rhythmic theme while blending multiple genres like Afro, Disco, Latino, Hip Hop, Reggae and Afropop.⁣

Rushmo is also a professional Sound Engineer and has traveled internationally with some of the most recognized and influential musicians in South Africa, including Hugh Masekela.⁣ He now resides in Singapore sharing is unique flavor with his cohorts in his collective with their Afrocentric music event, “Afrodisia”⁣.
