After earlier appearances on the label, Dimitris Doukas, better known under his “Restive Plaggona” moniker, returns as his industrial oriented alias “Matriarchy Roots” on Strange Therapy. A highly engaging and confrontational project influenced by anti-patriarchy ideas and industrial music. “Changing Habits” will guide us among creepy atmospheres, sharp noises and destructive soundscapes made to question our way of thinking and our society's structures.

Where Is Your Toughness Now (No Forgiveness) finds the listener surrounded by a sense of dread and imminent doom, a collection of shrilling glimpses and brooding ambiances, distant broken memories made sound and sudden disturbances. At the end of the track added piano notes will increase the creepiness, preparing us for what will come next. More More More More (Courting Insanity) dwells in deep power electronics territory, and we will find ourselves in a bleak sea of chaos and madness. Obsessive rhythmic patterns and majestic effects impose a robust march, evoking a mechanical world inside our vicious mind. Just when you think this is it an eerie melody complete the scenario. Breasts In Sight (Demand A Choice) surprises with delicate ambient synth sounds and crystalline atmospheres in a droning course, reaching after a while a stomping movement with martial innuendos and distorted kick drums. The listener finds himself in a complex mix of emotions underlined by melancholic notes and ominous soundscapes, perhaps showing us personal facts from the author's life.  

Lifestyle (After The Rise Comes The Fall) is a rhythmic noise affair with cinematic elements and abrasive atmospheres with suspended parts and heavily manipulated vocals. A nightmarish voyage into anarchic assaults and controlled darkness reaching orchestral greatness. Monogamy Rules (Not Belonging To Anyone) uses suspense as a device showcasing broken sounds and shrilling lines, conjuring an alarming sonic world for us. The tension grows as the highly cinematic crescendo reaches an industrial climax with sci-fi qualities. Inner thoughts and ideas become a compulsive soundtrack to the demise of our preconceptions and in-built credos, leaving us with a sense of uneasiness.  The last track Masculine Norms (The Many Faces Of Manhood) drives the message home by the means of eerie soundscapes and cut-up sounds, giving us a crawling movement with sparse rhythms and soothing hidden melodies. Distant laments evoke a deeply disturbing portrait of struggle and mixed emotions.

2020 EBM / Industrial Techno Mix

Knife Podcast 121 | Magnum Opus

Z31ITG31ST is a Colombian DJ and musician who has sought to get out of conventional sounds for more than a decade on different stages in an idea of ​​isolating himself from monotonous beats and finding him in experimentation. Starting in electro and techno music to find years later deep affinities with the sound aesthetic of krautrock, industrial, EBM, noise, synthpop, minimal wave, post punk and other textures that correspond to musical movements linked to the 70s, 80s and 90s.

He has shared stage with different international artists such as musician and DJ, including Martial Canterel, Paralitikos, She Past Away, Die Human, Ben Bloodygrave among others. He's been included in different parties and festivals from the underground movement of Colombia, Peru and its current country of residence, Chile. He is currently part of Morfina Records, a label he is part of as a DJ and Curator.          

In this set you will find a mix that experiments with different genres, mainly sounds oriented to Electro, Synthpop, industrial, Minimal Wave Minimalsynth, Synthpunk and EBM.

Clan Destine released last March 20/20, a series of releases that has been published periodically every month this year since the first edition and that gathers tracks from different artists, experienced producers in different styles such as industrial techno, acid, breakcore or experimental sounds, without limitations or concessions to friendly musical environments.

In this eighth edition, dedicated this time to the cat, and continuing with the same line of the previous releases, reigns above all a hard and chaotic sound context. James Demon (head of The Occultists label) brings a dark techno track inspired by post punk. Unknown further intensifies the atmosphere with a quiet industrial techno in tempo but with a heartbreaking punch. Ceili goes one step higher and increases intensity and power. The tempo and sound structure of Bloodlust's track follows a pattern quite similar to Ceili's work. Enio Kosai and Mondel Arenov offer a hard and somewhat faster techno than the above, with a sound perfectly associated with the rave scene. Spiral Instinct closes the A side with a track with similar rhythmic attributes to the two previous cuts but with a low fidelity sound treatment.

With the B side everything seems to restart again to start with a softer tempo and go up BPMS with each cut, but in this second side speed and rawness take a much more ruthless and disproportionate character. Slime Coca is the one who opens with acid techno and a speed that enters into the standardization of dance music. Thrae already takes a different approach but still remains quite affordable techno. From the third cut the tempo shoots up, Agustin G offers a track with a marked punch but already with a fairly fast speed. But it seems that there is no limit and that everything can be more destructive and faster with the last four cuts by Hellcreator & Noth Bloodstorm, Noizefucker, Nihil Fist and Skat Injector.

"I was always excited about 80's music. As I got more and more into electronic music, I also discovered genres like New Beat, Post Punk, and especially Electronic Body Music, beside Electro and early Industrial pieces.
These styles never really faded out, but came back to attention in recent years. I have selected some classic and modern interpretations for this mix of what I consider as 'Body Music', not always being strictly inside the borders of EBM."

Formal Method presents: Körpermusik

Rush 27 was established as an independent underground platform of electronic music in Prague in February 2020 - in a very difficult time for humanity, including musicians and artists. Despite all the well-known problems, Rush27 organised a festival in 2020; our first space-based project - Čičinek 2, was created in 2021. Čičinek 2 quickly became a space of freedom of expression, safety, inclusion, and collective enjoyment. Throughout this time, we have got talented residents (Axis Alpha, Epoché, Toluen Man) and a solid fan base. 

R27 is made by founder of infamous Hauz Praha which was located in the centre of Prague in former printwork and closed forever on January 2013 due to unpermitted activities and neverending troubles with police.
