Mantras4ModernMan was born in 2007, Vol 1 and 2 were recorded live in South Africa.Its a rich fusion of world music, eastern melodic influences, strong rhythms and soundscapes.

Klezmer, Balkan, Hip hop Yiddish fusion, Released in 2008 it is a remix of a track recorded by Rus Nerwich for his album "Beyond the Walls" an unprecedented exploration of music from the Holocaust Ghettos and camps. This  track features a Lithuanian Holocaust survivor rapping in Yiddish. The track was released on an album titled "Under the Poetree" in 2008.

Inspired by a South African play by the same name Electric Juju is an Ambient soundscape that was released on the album "Under the Poetree" in 2008. Written, produced and performed by Cape Town born saxophonist Rus Nerwich. Beyond the Walls is an exploration of the melodies born in the Holocaust Ghettos and Camps. Jazz musicians always used the folk melodies of the time as a vehicle for improvisation and in this tradition I aim to literally take these timeless melodies Beyond the Walls of the Ghettos.
Giving them new life in an improvisatory context. The songs are full of life, both its light and dark. Artists have always recorded history, telling its story not in words but in symbols of song and form. Beyond the Walls honors the artists, poets and musicians who through their creative mediums allowed us a glimpse of a monstrous time in history. One that offers us great insight into the spirit and duality of human nature, lessons of forgiveness, acceptance and most importantly the overwhelming importance of tolerance and respect for all that lives.
