MARIA 2.0

A very personal song, this was written in memory of my late brother who died a few months ago after a long battle with ill health. I held him in such high regard and his passing has left a big gap in my life. Writing and recording this song has helped me fill that gap somewhat!

Russ Parker is a producer, sound engineer, and sound designer based in Manchester, UK. He began making music in the late 1980s and now produces music for radio, television, and multimedia.
After leaving college, Russ got his first taste of the professional audio industry as a freelance sound engineer in television. Over the years, he has continued to play electric guitar and bass while refining his skills in MIDI programming, sampling, sequencing, and recording. These abilities have led him into composing music for radio and television, where he has secured multiple commissions.
All of Russ’s compositional work and sync music is created using real instruments, recordings, and synthesisers. He primarily works with wavetable and granular synthesis, avoiding sample libraries unless specifically requested. Additionally, he has ventured into mixing audio in Dolby Atmos. Recognising the growing demand for immersive audio, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Sound Engineering with a specialisation in Dolby Atmos.
Russ is a member of the PRS (Performance Rights Society) and the Musicians’ Union.
