Helmed by prolific drummer and percussionist Hudson Whitlock, the Melbourne-based band just released their new album ‘I Flip My Life Every Time I Fly’ on Mr Bongo. It is the latest musical concoction from Whitlock's eccentric brain, marrying the soul/funk roots of sample culture with the principles of boom-bap hip hop. This mix is a perfect accompaniment to the album. It takes you through a patchwork of soul, hip hop, funk, breaks, soundtrack nuggets, jazzy moments, and a bevvy of tracks that you may not know, but will 100% recognise from their sampled guise.
