Our 41st podcast comes from techno producer Voiski, who is a close associate of experimental label Silicate Musique, is part of Field Records duo Kartei and is also a regular on LIES and WT Records. His techno sound veers from off kilter and odd to more dance floor focussed, and is never short on intrigue. Characterised by infinitely repetitive loops and acerbic drums, his often analog tracks look to the future for their inspiration and always manage to be cerebral yet hypnotic. 

The mix he has served up for us is mostly made of old personal classics and or new tracks made by friends. “Intimate, glimmery and a bit strong,” says Voiski, the mix is a perfect one for this time of year and has some “heartwarming 90s trance to smile at with some solid techno to dance to.” He’s not wrong there, because this is an absorbing selection that might well surprise you with some of the more fun and sunny inclusions early on, but as things move on that deep, heady, hypnotic Voiski sound soon wins out with smooth coherent transitions that sound just like an extended track by the man himself.

Johannes Auvinen , best known by the stage name Tin Man, is California born electronic music producer, live-act and dj. Producing music for more than a decade, and named the master of the neo-acid genre, Tin Man continues to evolve with every release that comes under his name on the labels such Infrastructure New York, Killekill, Keys Of Life and more. He is also part of The Acid Symphony Orchestra and has turned out a standalone neo-classical and ambient work, Vienna Blue. Auvinen's recent output includes collaborations with Donato Dozzy and Cassegrain.

With his contribution to Bassiani Podcast series that was recorded at BASSIANI in July, now Vienna based Tin Man delivers one hour of highly improvisational live mix. The whole set is a deep dive into drifting, energetic and pulsing acid techno.

Tell us, exactly how long have you been waiting and longing for a new Parallel 9 EP?!  Well, we’ll tell you, Dominus – the previous Parallel 9 EP on Music Man – dates from 2005, so a follow-up was long overdue. 
But it’s coming, a new Parallel 9 EP has been scheduled for the 14th of May! Three full tracks and three tools, on one fine double pack. Class A material, from the master himself!

XHIN [ Stroboscopic Artefacts, meerestief, CLR ] Singapore

Singaporean techno stalwart Xhin has been making a splash in the underground dance scene since he independently released his "Xycle" EP in 2003. After being noticed by Walter Ercolino's Meerestief label, Xhin continued to release well-received remixes and develop his dark, futurist, sound-design based identity, eventually playing important electronic music festivals such as Cologne's C/O Pop. In 2009, Xhin joined with the then new and now highly-acclaimed Berlin based techno label Stroboscopic Artefacts, solidifying his position as one of the most influential and talented new producers in the industry.

Avid music collector, label owner & DJ, Vincent Neumann has gathered a loyal underground following by word of mouth, with consistently brilliant closing sets and long patient vinyl orientated mixing. Born, raised and currently residing in Leipzig, Vincent Neumann works as a psychotherapist during the day and as a DJ by night. As one of the residents of Leipzig’s Distillery since 2012, he happily gets to share his passion for dance music regularly. Next to this he also runs the Leipzig based label Unitas Multiplex. The vibes during his DJ-sets are often described as energetic, fast, enthusiastic and sometimes even relentless, without ever sacrificing taste or quality. For him, authenticity will always stand above fame, and if you witness one of his 10-hour closing sets you will understand what the fuss is about.

About the mix:
This mix focusses on what Vincent enjoys very much at the moment. Older stuff like Stanny Franssen paired with unreleased joints. This created a dance mix you can also listen to at home or just enjoy while cycling around.
