The new single from Forbidden Society exemplifies why the DJ, producer and clothing brand creator has been a pivotal part of the Czech and wider drum & bass scene since his first release. From headlining festival stages to engineering his own platform for releasing music, his self-titled record label, he’s proven his ability to move his art into different spheres. And with an unstoppable work rate, which saw his latest ‘Liminal Point’ album in 2020 as well as his first release on Noisia’s VISION Recordings, ‘Fade Away’ is another look at Forbidden Society’s development as a producer, where he once more explores his sounds as part of his solo project. 
‘Fade Away’ is a rumbling, low-end record that grows with its impact, taking you on journey underpinned by its shaking subs. The track’s bassline jumps and dives between flipping drum loops which gives it even more of an ominous feel; it’s all encompassing whilst showing the stripped back approach to music Forbidden Society has taken. 
Following his recent collaboration with Emperor, which saw support from a variety of outlets, including Drum & Bass Arena, Forbidden Society is continuing to ride this wave of success into 2021. ‘Fade Away’ is just another marker, with even more to come from the producer and his label this year.

In the underground archive, the hum lingered long before the system was switched on. A thin metallic body, assembled from geometry and formulas, lay in waiting. In the silence, one could hear drops of condensation and the faint whisper of fans.

When Paranoiac Del activated the circuit, the space was cut by a bass — low, viscous, as if rising from the earth itself. The structure shuddered, the joints of rhythm unlocked, and cold sensors flared with red light. Yet instead of predictable order, a strange unease emerged: pauses stretched longer than they should, and each hit sounded like the footsteps of an unseen observer.

Thus “Minimalistic” came alive — not an instrument, but a being, assembled from silence and precise fractions. It breathes slowly, studies the space, and seems to look at you through its own sound.

DEEPNAS — where the depth of rhythm borders on paranoia, and every composition becomes a signal from the dark zone in which you are no longer alone.

After a long period ... It´s time to welcome a new episode of remixes that will not leave anyone indifferent. On this occasion the protagonists of giving a twist to the original songs are none other than CPTL PNSHMNT, MANIATICS, HEKRIM and for the first time releasing music in our family, THRILLER! . Four technically perfect remixes with colossal work from these artists! We start with the remix of the magnificent MANIATICS to the original track piece "Anubis", an original song made by CPTL PNSHMENT feat RADIOHAZZARD. Adapting to the times Maniatics presents us with a remix of the freshest, and solid, at the same time elegant, giving a 180 degree turn to the theme that this wonderful original track already carried. Strong basses accompanied by explosive synths, powerful rhythms and a totally successful dancefloor flow !. The Next remix is ​​starring by CPTL PNSHMENT, and this time they are the ones who turn the game around on the original Maniatics track, "Fewer Job". A titan Neurofunk track, with unstoppable energy and strength. Puerto Ricans guys express the original theme in an incredible way and making a version 2.0 Supreme!. Strong and solid rhythms, accompanied by a bassline accord to the essence of the bassline of the original track, but elegantly enhancing this one, which was already a masterpiece, making it an absolutely explosive and fantastic remix! The fourth track starring by THRILLER,  who has managed to transform the abrupt atmosphere and terrifying ecosystem of "Infekt", Original track released some months ago by CPTL PNSHMENT, into a subtle and wonderful full-fledged deep roller. In this thriller remix, he continues to support the essence of the original song, but with less strident and much more technical rhythms, classy bass lines, and turning the atmosphere of this original song into something much deeper and more spatial. Following on from last year’s pulverising Quinquewave compilation cut “Midnight Lamp”, South Korean drum and bass production duo Hollyland have returned to local label Confucian with their first full release, the intricate two-tracker “GURUGURU” / “Love and Bass”.

Garnering international acclaim with a string of appearances on British label Close 2 Death, Austria’s Neurofunk, What Else? and Germany’s Raving Panda Records among other imprints, the pair – formed of Kiwon and Taehyung – have increasingly fleshed out their signature sound, contrasting lush, cinematic builds with crunchy, bitcrushed basslines to create jaw-dropping results.

The new release’s breezy opener, “GURUGURU” builds upon this theme, commencing with silky keyboards and dreamy flourishes of brass before snapping into jagged, club-ready drops accented by mechanical growls, resonant subs and popping snares. “Love and Bass”, on the other hand, is a comparatively minimal techstep number. Favouring a pared-back arrangement centred around shimmering synth work, persistent ride cymbals and swelling basslines, the track serves as a somewhat serene counterpart to its predecessor, with an underlying edge to it nonetheless.

Having now found their footing in various styles of D&B including rattling, relentless neuro and painstakingly detailed, boundary-pushing techstep, Hollyland are increasingly becoming one of East Asia’s most exciting new drum and bass acts. “GURUGURU” / “Love and Bass” is bound to further cement this reputation; both tracks will be initially exclusive to Beatport from 20 December, hitting other digital vendors and streaming services on 3 January.
