What a perspective to have heard this in 2014 being a native New Yorker who could have potentially heard this back then. Thanks for the gems played here. Looked up nearly all of them and bought them as well. Many thanks to Francis Patrick for the archiving of this possibly lost moment on local radio in the big city and DJ Rusty Egan for sharing it with us all.

i actually was lisening to this when it happened on WNYU  89.1 eons ago and i recorded it on cassatte and now i hear it and this is the first time ive heard this since 1981

Thanks to Francis Patrick who was clearing away a box of tapes and found this very odd interview with myself in NY in 1982. Some things you just can't say on radio anymore , well nothings changed I am still out all night and still love electronic music and I am talking about NY Nightlife, Ultravox- Spandau - Metro Peter Godwin and the dire music press who did not believe these Electronic Bands would last or even get off the ground... well 30 odd years later Spandau release Soul Boys of The Western World in Cannes Film Festival 2014 and the rest as they say is History...
