In this "Radio Impuls" show, DJs and producers @juanavaleria(who also spins under the name @presea) and @sepbtt are guests. The two played the closing set at our Rempart Rave with Nick Léon in February. They are both originally from Colombia, but now live in Freiburg and Karlsruhe and organise, among other things, the party series “La ruta del jaguar” and “neon jngl club”, with which they showcase mostly club music or artists from Latin America and other regions of the global south. In the show, we talk about their ideas behind it and about some tracks by Latin American artists. In the second hour, they play a b2b set.

"Radio Impuls" is fundamentally about electronic music. The focus is on curiosity about the sound, history and developments of more experimental genres that evolve on the borders of club music. The spotlight is on the questions of how different subgenres influence each other, how this relates to the subcultural scene, certain artists, labels and places. On the sound level, the programme is a continuation of what the Impuls Crew in Freiburg aims to do by DJing and organising parties, among other things: To create curiosity in order to remain curious about different, new left-field sounds within electronic club music.

Always on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 22 h. The next show is on May 21st.

@Trexeter displays a heavy dance selection of rave sounds from the Diaspora in Ruta's Showcase closing set at P8, cultural space in Karlsruhe, Germany. 
A memorable night where ravers from different backgrounds came together to celebrate diversity and dance in the collective's first performance in the city.

In "Afán," Juana Valeria presents an explosive bass accompanied by a reactive melody that moves through the aggressiveness of the track, contrasting with the soothing sounds of the sea, nature, and tender voices.

P.S. The title "Afán" itself means "being in a hurry."

As tradition follows, Ruta offers a free download track  every month and this time was Trexeter's turn on the spotlight. Simbou is a Latin infused techno arrangement formed by glitchy distorted noises, early reggaeton samples, sound designed melodic content and a few backspins. A proper dancefloor track that puts to work the sub and the booty.

The musical outlet known as DJ NO PARE was born out of a fascination for several musical movements that peaked in the 1990s in Latin America, such as old-school reggaeton, champeta, and Spanish-sung dancehall, with fundamental figures like DJ Playero, DJ Nelson, DJ Pablito or El Chombo.

Its style incorporates all these influences, blending them into an amalgamation of house, techno, trance and dembow, both in its role as a DJ and music maker.

Born from the need for a reggaeton DJ at a party in southern Germany in 2021, the project associated with DJ NO PARE took shape following the establishment of RUTA, a label and party series that showcases diverse Latinx electronic music nationwide, with it playing an integral role.

The official debut track of DJ NO PARE, titled 'Vacilando', is set to be released next May as part of RUTA's first Various Artists release, titled 'Trama'.

This piece is a blend of geographies. On one hand, the base from the UK bass movement gives the structure. Then samples of Bala , a new Bogotan sub-genre of the hyped Guaracha, give the contrarian character, and the universal breaks the release of the tension. Duality and motion have been part of Trexeter's body of work so far given the unstable nature of contemporary lifestyle. Soothing yet stimulating, an ambivalent space between a club tool and a contemplative tune.

"Trama" is RUTA's first VA release, serving reverb-stepped percussion with club-crafted melodies and driving drums for both the dancefloor and bedroom listening. Te trama? ∎ @sepbtt is a co-founder of the @rutamp3 (Germany) and @neo-tropica (Colombia) collectives. SEPBTT is characterized by a percussive and tribal sound as well as the use of polyrhythmic kicks in his productions and sets. Drawing influences from genres such as hard drum, dembow, UK bass, and techno among others, his sound frequently integrates heavy percussions with sci-fi-sounding elements combined under cinematic and somewhat ritualistic atmospheres.
