This song is one pattern of 16 steps, looped a lot of times. With this track I hope to demonstrate how you can bring variation to a single looping pattern.

For the synth track I have used a SLOW (unsynced) MODULATION GENERATOR FREQUENCY. For the drum tracks I have used RESET TRIG IN to make some loops shorter than 16 steps. This creates different rhythmic lengths playing against eachother: polyrhythm. I have also used different SEQUENCE MODES, so the step sequencer doesn't simply loop but goes back and forth or random.

Please remix it if you want to.

This is my dubstep/breakbeat demo song for KORG iMS-20. I had never used an MS-20 or SQ-10 before so the synth patches are actually quite basic. I hope the song will inspire you... download the session data to your iMS-20 and remix it!
