Naked Lunch PODCAST #363 - LISA OAKES

Belgian producer K-Deey joins Say What? with a powerful statement in the form of the Delulu EP — a hypnotic, rolling, and groove-driven collection of four finely crafted techno cuts.

The EP kicks off with 'Delulu' - built around a pulsating low-end and tight, swinging percussion, this track teases and evolves with subtle oldschool stabs and hypnotic vocal snippets that seem to echo from a distant dimension. The result is a track that keeps the floor locked in while allowing the mind to drift — a perfect opener for setting a deep, rolling mood

Next up is 'Whimsical', a deeper and more introspective offering. Here, K-Deey leans into a hypnotic loop structure, with subtly evolving synth phrases and a dubby bassline that anchors the track. There’s a dreamlike quality in the textures, creating a perfect final chapter for the EP. It’s a track that invites inner reflection just as much as it commands movement.

The third track on the release is '16:1' - a sharp, percussive groove lays the groundwork for layered synth stabs and intricate hi-hat patterns that push the track forward relentlessly. There's a mechanical yet playful edge here — a kind of controlled chaos — making it ideal for peak-time energy without ever becoming too obvious. The minimal arrangement leaves space for DJs to stretch and manipulate in the mix.

Closing the EP is 'Tachitita', diving into more Electro techno territory. The groove is warm and bouncy, led by metalic-inspired rhythms and interlocking drum patterns that evoke a sense of ritualistic movement. Unexpected dark textures and tonal percussion elements flicker across the stereo field, giving this track a playful but driving character that keeps dancers engaged and guessing.
