Four Tet - Finsbury Park Live set (London, 10th August 2024)

Otik's debut on Aus Music, the Xoul Trap EP back in May 2023, showcased his unique blend of atmospheric and breakbeat-powered techno. It is one of many releases over the last decade that have helped establish Ashley Thomas as an artist with a left-of-centre perspective. As well as curating his own Solar Body label he has dropped his singer sounds on Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs and Martyn's 3024, where he served up his debut album Cosmosis late in 2024. 

The lush 'Retrograde' is doused in loved-up synth layers and beautiful arps that swirl around a dusty, driving beat. The celestial charm is heightened with angelic vocal motifs that drift through the mix as the lo-fi drums drive on and lock you into a hazy trance.  
'X-Dream' is another melodic masterclass, this time with a garage-tinged and shuffling groove. Gorgeously tender keys rain down from above next to more echoing vocal coos and heavenly synth smears. The whole thing has a hint of melancholy that makes for an even more lasting impact.

A full four hours of the main man Caribou, recorded live at The Cause last summer. What more could you want to chase the blues away?

Dan Snaith is one of the most enduring figures in 21st century electronic music. From early records as Manitoba, to 2010's Swim (which RA called Album of the Year in a runaway vote), to Grammy-winning 2014 hit album Our Love, as well as ongoing collaborations with Four Tet and dance floor excursions under his Daphni alias, the Canadian DJ-producer is a fixture for a reason.

Ahead of a Caribou (Full Band) tour across the UK and Europe starting in February, we can now let loose the full four hour recording of his RA Live from 2024. 

In it, Snaith goes in hard, rolling out bassy, wobbly and fidgety heaters, running through everything from speed garage and UK funky to Afro house and anthemic deep house—and even a sprinkle of Stevie Wonder for good measure. It's what he truly does best: bangers on bangers (and more bangers).

DJ Nastia is back with a fresh intelligent dnb mix set that perfectly captures the essence of Ukrainian heritage. This time, her drum and bass performance moves away from the dancefloor hits, offering an atmospheric jungle mix recorded in the heart of a picturesque Kyiv suburb - Pyrohiv. A traditional Ukrainian village, surrounded by folk homes with thatched roofs, apple trees, and rustic fences, all nestled in a landscape reminiscent of centuries past.

The intelligent jungle mix blends seamlessly with its surroundings, mirroring the calm yet intricate vibes of the village. Just as the traditional homes preserve an authentic charm, Nastia’s intelligent drum n bass selection evokes a sense of nostalgia, layered with the forward-thinking sounds of ambient jungle and atmospheric drum and bass.
