RUTH OWENS - Make It Better

Growing up in Birmingham, Ruth Owens began to sing and learn the violin and guitar as a young child. By 16 she had recorded her first EP entitled ‘Strong’, from which two tracks gained radio play on BBC 6 Music, and the title track was placed in the independent film ‘Just Charlie’ which premiered on Sky Movies in 2017. After moving to Manchester to study at The RNCM she met James, Kieran, Fraser and Noah, who became great friends and band mates. After consolidating this new line up, Ruth and the band have been writing new material and gigging regularly around Manchester, and in 2019 signed with indie label Northern Quarter Records. Ruth is currently releasing singles from her upcoming EP 'Growing Up and Moving On' which will be released in its entirety in April 2021. Her latest single 'Live On In You' is a hopeful reflection on keeping the memory of a loved one alive throughout feelings of loss, and features solo violin performed by Isabella Baker.
