Lord, I Give Myself to You Again Today

The Four Faces of the Living Creatures

The four living creatures in Ezekiel
They all had the likeness that of a man
Each had four faces that would express
Christ in His all-inclusiveness.

The first face that we see was of a man
Giving us a glimpse of what’s in God’s heart
Man is the center of His great plan
Hence, God one day became a man.

The second face we see was a lion
Portraying that Christ is a mighty King
Christ has come and is reigning within
For Him to rule o’er self and sin.



The third face that we see was of an ox
Revealing the aspect of Christ as slave
He has come to serve the human race
We enjoy how He serves with grace.

The fourth face that we see was an eagle
Showing us how Christ is transcending all
Nothing could ever pull the Lord down
Nothing could ever make Him frown.

The four faces show us diff’rent aspects
Unveiling how Christ is so excellent
When we experience the Lord as such
His riches we enjoy so much.
