Here are two very close and loud thunder strikes from a storm on September 4, 2013. Recorded on my front deck with a Sennheiser MKH8040 ORTF microphone rig. It was very windy so I used a little RX2 to clean up the wind. Some light rain was falling also. Enjoy! -Frank

Last Light

Last year I started developing a speech synthesis choir, a couple stacks of logic boards working with a VP-770 is about as far as I got. I wanted to play with it again before packing/moving my studio.

The party leaps down to a courtyard and the ending of the demo introduces the spider sentry. This was the first prototype boss fight in a PvE map. The music entrance was timed to the Sentry landing in front of the player.

This was the introduction music for the demo. The beginning ambient section played while the party was waiting to leave a large chapel inside a "Techno Crypt."

The build and following arp section cue'd off the players exiting a hallway and hitting the environment reveal moment.

The party crosses a giant, metal, floating bridge and comes across some shield minions and combat erupts until you get through the chapel and encounter a huge gap between platforms inside the tempest.

Very early in development, I started exploring the possibility of a more classical orchestral approach to Battleborn's score. In the early days of Battleborn, we had a more serious tone to the writing and the lore. I spent about a week concepting all sorts of various style ideas and this one always stuck with me as one of the more interesting ones.
