here's a bizarre outtake from my Crucified By The Children's Aid Society era, recorded on may 17th 2014 at 7 PM, at 31 degrey court in Scarborough, community living residence. they were getting ready to kick me out by this point because i reported one of the staff for being a homophobic and complete dickhead to one of the residents.

this is from a very short-lived moment wherein i was experimenting  with weird tunings, homoti was still in its infancy, although for a very brief moment in 2014 (and even in early 2015!) i considered this a contender for homoti, it was supposed to end Side A. this is i believe two guitar tracks + loop + a wah-wah/phaser effect. the results are bizarre and disturbing, enjoy this minute of music that shouldn't have been released ever.

there is a brief sample of rivers cuomo's havard blues at the very end, hopefully rivers cuomo doesn't sue me, although he needs the money. since weezer sucks.

Bubble (2014 - instrumental)

this is off Side 2 of dream sequence, it is called down. an emotional song, i wrote the first chorus and verse shortly after my grandfather died. it is the first of i think six songs i wrote that night for the album. this song will be the longest track i've ever recorded, it clocks at 7 or 8 minutes and contains a very long casiotone/guitar solo. this rough take was recorded in february 2016 during one of my lowest moments of poverty, sickness, and enduring a dumb canadian winter with almost no heating in my house.

please keep in mind this is an extremely rough take, the lyrics were at that time unfinished, vocals are kind of bad and a bit too loud in the mix, and you can hear my laptop charger accidentally become unplugged (hence two "beep" noises after the first chorus)... this also cuts out early due to an mp3 error so there's a fade, and i'll actually probably record a brand new take of it just to freshen things up.

in other words, don't go thinking this is the FINISHED ALBUM version. consider it a Homoti Demos 1991 bonus track. *wink smiling emoji*


this is also an mp3 while the initial recording was transferred in 32/96 wav. the quality isn't the best, the highs were cut off as a result of the transcode. this file was presumed lost until sent to me just now by sir aaron eddie hansen, archivist of all simon cameron material and unconfirmed "second member" of the simon cameron fletcher movement.

this was written in 2014 for my first record A Promise (which, along with Homoti, i've been working on for *two* years AKA *TOO* fuckin long) while i was living in wainfleet, ontario which is a really gross mostly white redneck populated area where the only good radio station is either CBC radio or that one radio station that plays sarah mclachlan's building a mystery over 60 times a day for no reason

i became influenced by some of the people who lived in wainfleet and how they were basically fuckups in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and often burnt bridges with their family members who became estranged with them many years before, i spent many days in the wainfleet library speaking to people in their 60s, hoping that my life never ends up as fucked up as theirs. i wrote this song in the point of view of someone who is estranged from his family and has been for decades, his family members have acheived accomplishments but yet feel like they don't deserve any good will, and he doesn't ask them why they feel that way about themselves because they are estranged from them and thus don't have any contact with them. 

i referenced poets and artists and writers in this song, the first verse references phil ochs, one of his songs is called I Ain't Marching Anymore. i referenced some female poet in the second verse (i don't really remember if it was sylvia plath or some other woman), and the third verse references "tortured or starving" writers who sometimes write or wrote depressing stuff like kurt cobain or david sedaris (who is a comedic writer but at some times is very bleak and morose) and of course, sartre. the second verse is also a reference to my mother who i came across a notebook of her writings from 1990-1991 wherein she was 19 and seemingly had aspirations for writing, but she stopped writing stuff like that once my brother was conceived in 1993 because she became a mother and no longer had time for that stuff anymore. this is a re-recording of the song, i initially shared a cassette recording of a demo of why on my somelittleboyinblue soundcloud in early 2015, it sounds like poop, this one sounds better. watch out.

this is a cover of DAS RAD's circles, off their final cassette, i recorded this earlier tonight. my first track on soundcloud in two months. why such a long wait? soundcloud has this thing where free accounts can only upload like 90/120 minutes of audio, i'm currently at 66 minutes now. gotta act quick and sell out by buying a pro unlimited account, ya know?

the first time i ever heard DAS RAD was on a cassette i had bought at soupcans' release party for their album Good Feelings at double double land in late 2012, i bought a HSY/DAS RAD split tape there at the merch table, and within less than a few weeks, had already bought a DAS RAD shirt, seen DAS RAD play live 3-4 times, and had gotten bo's autograph on a gig poster (!!! -- a hilarious nervous first encounter, my first words to bo were "c-can you sign this?" thinking he was so awesome in my 15 year old world that i just had to have his friggin autograph, i still have the poster and i'd later repeat this "can u sign this" tradition four years later when i saw DAS RAD perform live for the very last time at the baby g and bought their very last tape)

when i asked bo through facebook on sunday if i could cover this song, it was a big yes. i then talked about it with him later that night while i binge ate on pretzels, we thought it'd be such a cool and cute idea for me to cover a DAS RAD track with my acoustic guitar and whiny vocals.

hi. been holding off the release of this for about a week??? two weeks? if i released this the day i recorded it, on the 12th, it'd be the first song i ever wrote, recorded and released all in less than 10 hours, but then i'd be lying to you because i wrote this a few days earlier while on a blue night bus at 3 am completely drunk after seeing protruders/soap (frickin greasy band)/lice/my friend kevin (who also famously ran inyrdisk, and also whom i'll buy a naked city - torture garden cassette from in the next few weeks) mess around with a broken bass at owl's club, humming the verse and chorus melody quietly to myself at the back of the bus repeatedly for an hour...praying to GOD or BUDDHA or whomever that i absolutely wouldn't forget it once i got home and then i proceeded to record drunk me humming it into a laptop microphone. then i recorded this. i have written around 6-7 songs since the beginning of the month but i'm having difficulty putting them down to tape, they're really all over the place.

this will be the last song off my third and last record, this isn't a demo either -- this is the first and finished take, didn't rewrite or revise lyrics, wanted to get this over and done with as quick as possible. i can't wait to release these three albums so i can move onto something else. i might drop a single or two or play a show or two after this third album is released but i'm no longer recording after 2017.  this is in open A tuning, we're all going full nu metal tuning here. check out the "bridge" chord progression. y'all want a single say fuck that. it's all about the he said she said bullshit. ignore this expulsion of sad feelings. eat it up while U can.

one of my ASPIRATIONS for 2016 was to make catchy pop songs while in the midst of relationship crisis, i instead wrote really long depressing songs, neat. so here's a really poppy song off my third record, this is called "Dropped" and i wrote the chorus to this earlier in the first week of december 2016 while talking to someone at a show who i felt was patronizing me and being an overall argumentative person, i wrote this in the POV of them speaking to me but i guess you could also assume that i wrote this as a message to them in my POV, cuz i hate em. one of the very last tracks i just wrote for the third and final simon record, i wrote this also while listening to a lot of pet shop boys b-sides (also a lot of beat happening) all night so it's a very simple sawng. i have a lot of projects ready for 2017, 2017 will also be the last year i perform as an acoustic musician, i'll be playing a shitton of shows, i'll drop a few albums, and then i'm moving onto new projects. 2017 will be super greasy, check it out.

today i have decided to cover "dumb" off nirvana's 1993 album in utero, which i am proud to say is my all-time number one favorite record hands down. nirvana still means lots to me.

for the last little while, i have been recording lots of material in such a small amount of time, it is almost overwhelming. over an hour of stuff in two months. i am incredibly lazy when it comes to getting music stuff done, and because i am rather (severely) unhappy with how things are going in my life currently, that laziness has almost quadrupled. and while it is rather exciting when i think about all the stuff i have recorded and will release, the thought of recording makes me want to faint or barf. especially vocals...

here is a new track i recorded this morning from 6 AM - 8 AM, called apartments & condos and this is mainly about living in toronto and seeing my hometown go to ruins via destruction of family owned businesses vital for the community to make way for condos, consumerism and yuppies and whatever else that is ruining toronto. a coffee time down the block turned into a loft. need i say more?


part of an EP i was supposed to finish a while ago, this won't be on an EP and there won't be an EP released at all. just this track and a few others down the road.

one of the very early simon tracks back when i was too shy to sing. although if you look really deep into the orfices of the internet, you can find some other songs i recorded when i was 14, and while they were very mature and precociously written for my age, my voice sounds terrible and my guitar is mostly always out of tune. ha!

this was recorded in february 2011 in a very basic four-track fashion to test the pickups of my then-guitar, an ibanez electric-acoustic which sounds a lot better than my current guitar. this was recorded via plugging the guitar directly into the soundboard, i recorded a few songs this way either plugged into my laptop or into a cassette deck, and when distorted, it sounded really nice. i lost almost nearly all of those projects except for this one when the laptop i recorded them on, suddenly would not turn on, citing a hard drive failure, within three months of me purchasing it, i didn't backup or save any of the masters. call it bad luck, or just call it Acer Continuously Making Shitty Computers Or Laptops. always make digital and physical backups of your stuff.
