I am back with my first DJ mix in over a year! It was a good break to recharge the ears and mind for awhile, but I miss the music the most. Over the past few months I've had lots of inspiration from my trip to San Diego, CA to attend Crssd Festival this past march, to re connecting with old friends talking about music, to re-listening to old dj sets and tracks (and newer material) from my favorite dj's and producers, life events etc. So I certainly hope you all enjoy my return back to the decks with this new mix for 2025! :)

Dissident Music proudly presents Thirteen, a luminous collaboration between two veterans of the U.S. electronic underground: Sandra Collins and Micke. It seems almost pointless to try and cobble together some sort of introduction of Sandra, as few American DJs have been as influential to the development of progressive dance sounds worldwide as she has. She is a foundational artist, widely renowned for her brilliant DJ sets, best-selling mix compilations and trend-setting releases. Micke, now a longtime Dissident artist, also boasts an impressive history in the underground dance scene, carving his path through the East Coast club circuit, earning residencies at iconic events like Buzz in DC before embarking on his acclaimed journey as a producer and touring DJ.

Together, they deliver a track that captures the essence of summer—melodic, uplifting, and undeniably dancefloor-ready. Modern and classic and timeless all at once - Thirteen is like a love letter to all those magic moments we’ve celebrated through the years.
Elevating the release further, Quivver—AKA John Graham, AKA Skanna, Tilt, and Space Manoeuvres (again, is a proper introduction really possible?) offers a remix that seamlessly blends his signature progressive house sound with pure summer fire for 2025. We’ve been fans for over 25 years and having John on Dissident is a huge honor, to say the least! His remix here shows why so many consider him to be one of the world’s best producers of progressive and melodic electronic music.

Completing the package, Kaspar Tasane, recently hailed as "one to watch" by Soundgarden resident Gustin, infuses Thirteen with his unique blend of elegance and drive. Drawing from his roots in Tallinn's electronic scene and his experiences performing across the U.S., Kaspar continues to bring the goods on track after track. With support from luminaries like Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, and Hernan Cattaneo, Kaspar's musical future is bright, and his remix of Thirteen is no exception!

Broken Sleep

Hailing from San Francisco, Ryan Carney is a passionate loving guy when it comes to music and DJing.

Ryan got his exposure to Dance music age the age of 5 from his older sister introducing him to sounds of Acid House, Techno, Nu Wave, and Deep New York/Chicago House. From that tender young age, Ryan never looked back. He then later discovered the likes of Trance & Progressive in his early teens in the late 1990s. He was an active party goer in the San Francisco Rave Scene from the years 1998-2006. In 2001,  he went to an event and saw a local SF trance DJ legend, Dyloot play to a 10,000 capacity event. Ryan was overwhelmed by the people, the music, and the DJ controlling the crowd on a musical journey.  He knew that being a DJ was his calling. From 2001 to the end of the 2000s, Ryan has been putting out mixes.

Growing up in the rave scene as a teenager,  Ryan enjoyed the electronic music styles of Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Paul Van Dyk, Orbital, Derrick May, Richie Hawtin, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Hernan Cattaneo, Sandra Collins, Sander Kleinenberg, Ferry Corsten, DJ Tiesto, Gabriel & Dresden, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Sander Van Doorn, Armin Van Buuren and countless others which spark his unique but unusual taste of music. In the winter of  2014, he collaborated with Norwegian DJ's The Arctic Saints to do a guest mix on their "Arctic Sessions" podcast on Hurradio in Norway, and later on that year, Ryan debuted his Radio Show "Revolution Sessions" on Pure.FM in March 2014 and concluded in May 2016. He then later debuted a brand new mix show called "Sehnsucht Radio" on PureFM which ran from July 2016-February 2017.

Today, Ryan still Dj's and put out mixes with his Quality Electronic music styles of Techno, Melodic Techno & Progressive. He enjoys music like everybody else. Music is his passion and what he plays is what he's playing in his life right now. He hopes that with his style of music he plays, it reaches the people within their hearts, and open's minds & hearts.
