Okay, so I unabashedly love this song. It's got a ludicrously great ragtime piano solo from a good friend of mine, and great trumpet work too. It's all done with my old band Captain Firebutton. I sing the entire song through a gramophone speaker to give it an old-fashioned sound.

Waitin' On You

This is a song I wrote for my friend Sean to sing. He's an amazing vocalist and he does more with this song than I could possibly have hoped for. The song is about the comic book superhero Martian Manhunter and I think it's one of the loneliest songs I've ever written, but also the most hopefully at the end.

I'm A Stranger (Martian Manhunter)

This song is a bit of a joke. I wanted to write a good pop song that was about a zombie apocalypse, so I hit on the idea of a guy trying to stay alive and thinking about his girlfriend, but when he gets turned into a zombie he's thinking about her in a decidedly different way.

Thinking of You

This song I wrote for my friend John to sing in my old band Captain Firebutton. He delivers the first line perfectly, which I think is a great hook.

I'd like to do a full-on full band country hoedown recording of this sometime. It's just a tiny little stomping' country tune.

Welcome Sally

This is a song I wrote for my sister to sing, and we performed it together in our band The Catchy Handle. I think that the chorus harmonies in this song are some of the best I've written. I also like how the song doesn't really kick in for about two whole minutes. The drums are more epic that way though, I think!

Faking A Life

This one I wrote for my old band Captain Firebutton. I sing it as a duet with our lead singer Sean. The idea is that the narrator suffers from multiple personality disorder and the two of us singing are two personalities arguing. Yeah man. It just got highbrow in here.

Went Down To Montreal

This one is just a sketch, really. Just a live recording of me and a guitar. It's a really straightforward song but I like the imagery in the lyrics and the way the song moves!

Life Without You

I wrote this song for my friend John to sing in our band Captain Firebutton. I also got the whole band to chant nonsense syllables throughout the song. And yes, I know it reminds you of "The Circle of Life."

Old World

A little pop tune I wrote while really feeling like I needed to get out of my current job. Recorded all with my acoustic guitar with some distortion on there for that electric sound.
