Nick Scofield continues to craft a sound of his own. Centered around a backbone of sturdy grooves, he explores realms of melodies both retro and futuristic. With a pair of appearances on our Tales of Romance series, as well as the timeless Highway 1 EP gracing TOR last year, Scofield has built a hearty foundation in the early stages of his journey. As we venture into the new year, we are thrilled to have Scofield back on board for his second full project on the imprint - the Foggy Night EP.

The project’s namesake opens the show in scintillating fashion. Drenched in percussive persistence, rhythmic rotations instantly frame the groove on Foggy Night. Eastern strings provide a lush melody, while ominous synthetics elevate energy throughout this heady cut from Scofield.

Zagroutah keeps the organic rhythms flowing, while a classic house groove nudges us towards the light. Afro-tinged influences come to the fore from the early stages, while an electro-synth hook surprises the senses. A delightful flute performance is the cherry on top of this one, which cohesively checks all the boxes; a tune for the true groovers.

Closing out this sumptuous trio is Opulence. Low-slung drums get the vibe rolling, as Nick harnesses deviant deep tones through punchy synth stabs and a tripped-out vocal chop. Look no further, this EP succinctly summarizes the Scofield sound.

We’re thrilled to bring you the latest release on Voodoo & Prayers, 
as Ranj Kaler returns to the label with a stunning remix series of Kamilo Sanclemente's epic track, Parallax. 
A true master of his craft, Ranj reimagines the original in three distinct ways, taking it into fresh territory with each version. The remixes sit somewhere between Sasha’a Expender and an Andrew Weatherall remix with grungy baselines, stunning peaks and breakdowns combined with dropping into epic beats and painted with some beautiful textures.

1️⃣ Displaced Remix – Electronica breaks rework that channels deep and dynamic textures with driving energy.

2️⃣ Immortal Remix – A rework with the elements of the first version, but hitting that bit harder, and driving that bit more intensely.

3️⃣ The Beatless Remix – Stripped-back and ambient, this version strips away the beats, letting the underlining melodies float and breathe in a super blissed out version. 

With Kamilo’s original Parallax already known for its mesmerising depth, these remixes elevate things to a whole new level. 🌌 This release also marks Ranj’s first return to the label since his Velvet Horizon EP, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him back on board!

Perfectly timed for ADE this needs to be dropped at the best parties for sure. We may be biased but this really is some of Ranj’s finest work and that is saying something considering the string of No 1’s and top 10 Hype Electronica releases he has created this year.

Since 2006 you can follow Ryan's traces on almost every important melodic electronic music label worldwide such as Erased Tapes, Anjunadeep, Watergate, Traumschallplatten, Bedrock or Last Night on Earth. Touring the globe constantly being invited to iconic venues like Bilbaos Guggenheim Museum, Stockholm’s Fotografiska or Berlin´s legendary Funkhaus inspires Ryan´s musical aesthetics whose quality brought him an international fan base and a remarkable reputation.

Over the years he collected notable attention by a variety of artists out of every electronic music genre such as Aphex Twin, Olafur Arnalds, Stephan Bodzin, Apparat, Max Cooper, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Boys Noise or even Depeche Mode including his music on their ‘Sound of the Universe‘ tour.
