Once again, after last weekend’s mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, everyone from pastors to politicians have offered “thoughts and prayers” for those killed and their families. And once again, we as citizens, parents, grandparents, and people of faith are left wondering, “What do we do?” Our reading from Isaiah this Sunday reminds us that “thoughts and prayers” are not enough; we are called to not only pray for healing but to be healers. Our readings were Isaiah 1:1, 10-20 and Luke 12:32-40.
