This song features drums, bass, synth, and electric guitar, which complement its theme as the starting track to the album and introduce the overall sound and vibes of what I call Digital Funk.

The Beginning

For this song, I chose to use drums, bass, electric guitar, and synth. This song is 80’s themed with emphasis on the slap bass. The bass brings that extra funky groove that drives the track home.

Wonderful

For Heartbreaker, I wanted to jump from the ’80s onto a more Big House Digital sound. I used digital beats to help me achieve this and a chorus effect on the electric guitar. The other instruments implemented were a funky-sounding bass with a flanger effect.

Come Alive is a song I felt like mashing genres together and seeing what would happen. House music, funk, and rock are the three genres that I wanted to use to create a sound of coming alive.

Night Owl was a song where I thought digital funk could be expressed acoustically and that it was a nice break from purely electronic tracks.

For Tech Talks, I wanted to have a digital rock/funk vibe. To get his sound, I added distortion to the electric guitar lead while keeping the rhythm guitar sound clean so the track does not get too muddy.

First Love was where I wanted to take a break from the guitar and give the piano the spotlight. I used a slow digital beat and a nice deep bass that starts and ends with an alluring slide.

The instruments I used for Mind Mixing were digital beats, a low distorted synth, and a distorted electric guitar. The distortion in the track inspired the name because it just takes you to a different place.

Mankind was a track where I wanted to express my love for blues while adding a funk and rock element. The bass is distorted, as is the guitar, with its wah-wah effect and an excellent classic rock beat to support it.

This track uses a digital beat accompanied by a bass using the chorus effect and a guitar using an octave effect. The End represents the album's closing, which provides a funky digital satisfaction to the end of the album.
