Visionquest Transitions Radio Show Mix Pt. 2 of 2

Eric Louis returns to his own Devilish Affair with 4 dubbed out original cuts. Vinyl only, 180grams. 

In 2021, the New Jersey based producer & DJ launched his Devilish Affair imprint with the Adventures EP which was supported by many leading names in the industry. 

Eric’s story continues with a follow up to the label’s debut in the form of "Adventures Part 2.”

Drama’ leads the release and lays down a dynamic stab-led hook at its core while a bumpy vacillating rhythm, murky textures and low-end pulsations carry the ever-evolving groove throughout. ‘Café Dubs Part 1’ follows and dives deeper courtesy of sweeping atmospherics, expansive reverberations and airy pads running atop a minimalistic drum groove. 

‘Floating Away’ is up next and as the name would suggest offers a cosseting feel via ethereal, billowing pad lines, soft chord stabs, twinkling synth chimes and low-slung percussion. 

Closing it out, ‘School Yard’ then leans into darker realms with hazy, heavily reverberated stabs, hypnotic voices, crisp drums and choppy bass hits

Greetings, this is Ribozomi, and I warmly welcome you to the latest edition of Amazing Trip Session - your weekly dose of musical inspiration. Today's episode is particularly exciting, as I am thrilled to introduce you to a talented warrior from the Bulgarian underground scene: Hristomir.

Hristomir is a skilled DJ and producer, originally from Stara Zagora and currently based in Sofia. His performances are musically dynamic and always convey a captivating narrative. Over the past year, he has diligently worked in the studio, and we eagerly anticipate his upcoming releases. Additionally, Hristomir, alongside his partner Karamana, will be launching their own record label, "Bloom Tribe," which is a promising development for the future.

- Where were you born and raised?
My name is Hristomir.Born and raised in Stara Zagora Bulgaria, currently based in Sofia.

- Describe your music journey with few statements. How everything started and how you ended up to electronic music. Which factors shaped your music taste?

Everything started at my last year at school.I’ve downloaded ableton 8 on my PC and then the magic happend.After a while I’ve started djing in my hometown and after few years the biggest moment that changed me entirely was my two years in Netherlands.Escaping my comfort zone helped me to improve my vision and way of thinking about music.

- What can we expect from your mix? 

In my mix for Amazing Trip session you can hear traks that I’m currently playing during my gigs but also following the idea of Amazing trip I want to let you trough journey which will show you that after dark there is light …or smthing else ,enjoy.

A Motor City, Berlin, London hybrid, Ryan Crosson is a complex artistic creature. Equal parts energetic, down to earth Detroit native and ultra-refined, musical aesthete, Ryan has one ear to the club and one ear far, far beyond. Known the world over for shape shifting, shoulder shaking tracks on groundbreaking labels including M_nus, Supplement Facts, Spectral, Wagon Repair, and his own Visionquest, Ryan’s production and sampling practices depart from the worlds of house or techno by referencing musique concrète, Downtown New York funk, and East African jazz. Born and raised on a steady diet of post-apocalyptic landscapes, dark warehouses, and the sounds of Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Magda, and Villalobos, Ryan’s DJ sets aim to expand the horizon of possibility without sacrificing dance music’s core element of sweaty, hedonistic fun. His unique musical vocabulary and tireless dedication insure him a place in the dynasty of forward-thinking techno transplants.

Alongside Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves, Ryan is responsible for the day-to-day running of Visionquest, one of dance music’s most cherished and eclectic imprints. Ryan and his partners in Visionquest have honed a whole new landscape of lush, organic techno and esoteric leftfield electronica. In 2014, Ryan oversaw the construction of Visionquest’s newest venture—their digital arm and sub-label Brachtune. Full of off-kilter, loopy and positively circus vibes, the tracks showcased on Brachtune will remind long-time friends and fans of Ryan’s early morning sets in the notorious “Tesh Club” basement.

In addition to his work with Visionquest, 2014 was Ryan’s most prolific production career yet, with a staggering number of releases on labels such as Darkroom Dubs, Mobilee, and . Highlights include Bricolage, Ryan’s hotly anticipated first EP for Visionquest, especially the labyrinthine, twisted “Club Chimes,” a heady collaboration with long-time friend and fellow Visionquest artist Cesar Merveille. The year also saw Don’t Be Left Out, a mix CD with another fellow traveler Matt Tolfrey, which has been described as “deep, diverse, and exciting all the way through.”
