This mix was created when Damian and Martin joined forces in a rare musically alternative back to back session when they met up in Tulum  after having played The Day of Dead in different cities around Mexico. 

We hope you enjoy the first 90 minutes of this session as we count down the days until these two forces of nature collide again for DAY ZERO at the magical pyramid site Chanolandia outside Playa Del Carmen on the 11th of January 2014

Medalion is a quarter of EP produced by Brizman & Szafran. The EP will be released partly throughout 2023 - one track every few months. It contains 4 tracks produced by good friends in the last few years in Berlin, it combines the sounds and rhythms that are somewhat characteristic of both producers. 

The first track - Medalion - is a rough, groovy, fat-sounding music journey leading you through the dancefloor of clubs.  Layers of pads, atmospheres, and analog delays laid on a running breakbeat with a strong 4/4 kick that won't let you stop dancing. 

The subtle, thrumming rhythms and hovering melodies make early movements pleasant.  Instead of delivering a maximal release, they give us minimalism at its least effective.

Exclusive: Jakob Mäder - The Essence (Shan Remix)

Stuttgart-resident Jakob Mäder delivers the next outing on infamous Skylax Records with his seven tracker Chord Anthem, which consists out of six original tracks and a remix from Running Back mainstay Shan. The tracks on the EP combine an House, Italo and enough Acid bleeps to make an everlasting impression on the floors. With a modern twist Mäder manages to reissue if not to say revive the golden era of 90s House music with his approach, however sounding modern and classic at the same time. As before-mentioned Shan took on remix duties for The Essence and comes up with a track, which touches the Acid genre as well as it includes trancey sound-sequences all floating over a House-drum pattern. It's surely one of these tracks soaking one into its soundscapes and releasing one on the magic it unfolds with every beat it makes.

A Motor City, Berlin, London hybrid, Ryan Crosson is a complex artistic creature. Equal parts energetic, down to earth Detroit native and ultra-refined, musical aesthete, Ryan has one ear to the club and one ear far, far beyond. Known the world over for shape shifting, shoulder shaking tracks on groundbreaking labels including M_nus, Supplement Facts, Spectral, Wagon Repair, and his own Visionquest, Ryan’s production and sampling practices depart from the worlds of house or techno by referencing musique concrète, Downtown New York funk, and East African jazz. Born and raised on a steady diet of post-apocalyptic landscapes, dark warehouses, and the sounds of Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Magda, and Villalobos, Ryan’s DJ sets aim to expand the horizon of possibility without sacrificing dance music’s core element of sweaty, hedonistic fun. His unique musical vocabulary and tireless dedication insure him a place in the dynasty of forward-thinking techno transplants.

Alongside Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves, Ryan is responsible for the day-to-day running of Visionquest, one of dance music’s most cherished and eclectic imprints. Ryan and his partners in Visionquest have honed a whole new landscape of lush, organic techno and esoteric leftfield electronica.
