The third section of “Tome of Stars” is “Sporogenesis”, a haphazard chronicle of the years 2011–2020. It marks a shift from the cataclysm of “Senescence" into a period of withdrawal and emotional hibernation, its eleven sonnets seeking to reflect the padam of the collection’s bharatanatyam-inspired structure.

This sonnet captures a moment of spiritual desperation and internal rupture set against the serene backdrop of a snow-covered forest near Princeton University. It presents a real event layered with metaphorical depth. In the aftermath of profound loss, the speaker wanders through a frozen winter landscape, pleading with the cosmos for a sign from his beloved or some contact “from beyond.” Amid the stillness, a divine-seeming reassurance, a sensed “Voice”, emerges, offering a promise of future reunion. This vision, though fragile and difficult to trust, becomes something the speaker cannot let go of. The poem moves between poles of revelation and delusion, hope and skepticism, and ultimately arrives at a grim self-awareness: that the promise he clings to may be nothing more than a fabrication of his own mind, constructed to soften the unbearable weight of separation.

My footfalls sank within the woodland snows,  
Where white embraced the earth in silent sleep.  
I lost my way to find paths in that glow,
Beseeched the failing light for word of thee.

The tapestry that binds us—star and gaze—
Wailed wildly past the world of flesh and bone.  
While how or when was wrapped in frosted haze,
A Voice confirmed a life we’d call our own.

And though the raging storm will darken day,  
Dread demons ripping me from peace once more,  
Sequestered is this vision love relayed,
A gemstone locked within my deepest core.

But madly clasp this myth that I was sold.
